So NutzAboutBolts, you say the 2012 had some updates that reduce oil consumption. What are those updates and will they work on the 2010?

How many miles and what driving conditions for that amount of oil collection in the catch can?

Looks like it's all oil and no moisture, but wait until winter time, that's when you see coffee & eggnog stuff inside LOL:sneaky:

166k, mostly highway. It’s not too bad but definitely have to empty every oil change or every 20k miles incase it gets over filled

    Nice videos;).

Maybe @Tideland Prius will add them to the first post:whistle:?

So the missus is not so gentle with the upper glove box:(.

The oil catch can looks like it is doing its job though:).

I saw you were throwing stones at us 2010 owners. You’ve gotten more out of the can than our 2010 with 183 k miles on it that burns about a quart every 5 k miles or so;).

If you want to do a video on the front shock replacements, @The Critic amd I will be getting together next Sunday to do mine:).

That could be our “random” meeting(y).

Lol honestly, life is so hectic and busy now since I had my son, I don’t think I’ll be able to go anywhere for along time. Nick actually comes to me now and he drives from San Jose to Dublin to film. Sorry Ray!

Wow over 20k miles a year I thought I was driving a lot with over 15k per year! Indeed @NutzAboutBolts there was more oil collected than what @Raytheeagle has in his catch can. Driving too fast perpahs?

Ray how about inviting Nick to join your mini meet to film the shock replacement, you will be the star and the video will be presented as @NutzAboutBolts production?;)

Yeah, not sure about the oil in the OCC but it looks more than usual.

I drive 2k miles a month, so around 24k miles or so. It’s a work car that’s why it has a lot of miles.

I tried asking nick to do a meet up but he doesn’t want to since he has other things going on as well. Maybe one day when everything’s settled down.

Wait til you have more than one;).

Right now with a 7 and 5 year old we balance 2 full time jobs with cub scouts, tennis, swimming, soccer and occasional other tasks:(.

But the in laws are 5 doors down, so they watch the kids occasionally, like this morning / afternoon so we can do things like wine events:

Another nice Northern California Saturday (y).

Offer always stands to help or meet up;).

I’m a do-er and not a videographer, but can offer my car up for the greater good (y).

If you can get past the cost of living, there are a LOT of reasons to be here;).

Coming from a low cost of living area (northeastern Pennsylvania) there was some sticker shock, but ultimately you budget, plan and strategize ;).

    It worked out so far(y).

Pull the orange safety plug before doing anything else back there;).

After that employ the “test before touch” method. You shouldn’t see corrosion very evident. Most of the corrosion will be on the bus bars, which connect the modules together. If you see signs of leakage, that indicates a module will be failing:cool:.

But I’ve thought about doing the same thing on our 2010 woth 183 k miles to ensure everything is in good sorts:).

    Safe travels(y).
