2015+ scored better on partial offset frontal crash tests.

The 2015 mid-cycle enhancement also added a power driver's seat, a new audio head unit, a new gauge cluster with LCD screen, and fresh (though polarizing in my opinion) styling.

The year to get depends on your budget.

I can't help but think that those cracked windshield complaints are actually meant for the 2016 fourth-gen liftback, where that is actually a problem.

I think later models, 2016 and 2017 have newer battery chemistry. When I first got my car last year, I got about 47.5mpg in normal mode. I just calculated my last fill up all in PWR mode and still got 47.5mpg. I can only say that it must be the battery chemistry. But for sure test drive it in a mix of highway and street, but unfortunately it is the calculations after a fill up that you will really know.

True. Could be a mix up.

2015 v Four here. Recent road trip from NC to FL yielded about 39 (hand calculated) MPG. Considering 75-80 MPH average speed on I 95, with the AC on full blast, fully loaded, plus a lot of short (10-20 minutes) trips while at the beach, we are okay with that.

My 2015 model 4 gets around 45 mpg for the last 20,000 miles on the mpg read out. Hand calculated mpg runs about 1.8 mpg less than the mpg read out. I currently have 39,000 miles on it and have not had any problems. I use it to go to Florida every winter, and I can load all my "stuff " including two golf bags, two coolers , clothes in two duffle bags, boxes of" assorted necessities " etc. etc. and this leaves plenty of room for the passenger seat to recline for catching a nap.

EDIT: Didn't scroll down far enough, it seems.

As for the discussion about fuel mileage for the v wagon, my last fill up I hand-calculated 45.3 MPG, my best since I picked up my car a few months ago.

I collected a bunch of comments from various people on this forum and put together a list of likes and dislikes with my comments and experiences. No sugarcoating. As honest as I could make it. My DIL bought one having read the list. So now 5 Toyotas and 3 Prius with 2 well over 150k miles.

So read and see if the strengths match your wants or any of the weaker aspects are fatal in your mind. I'm glad at 47k miles. Driving faster recently so my MPG is down but still overall very EPA as you can see. I'll be taking it 100+ miles tomorrow.
