Hello Prius community, I am the proud new owner of a 2014 Prius C Four. Purchase came with only one key and I don't know how smart it is, but smart enough that I will need a spare. So far I've gotten a quote for an exact copy from an automotive locksmith with excellent reputation for $295. That's an owie in my book - when you're buying an efficient, economical car. Last car was a 2000 VW Golf TDI. I had a Vag-Com dongle to make minor adjustments and check fault codes, but I certainly lack the skills to program a new keyfob. Advice appreciated and I am happy to be a new member of the Prius Community.
congrats and welcome! i haven't done it, but there are many threads here regarding purchasing a new fob on eBay, $100'+, and programming it to work. all the best!
