I think it might be nice to know the total DC Voltage, FIRST.

Nah the car got salvaged due to an accident, and has been sitting for about a month. Don't know if the cells have gone bad.. guess I will see. They are from a 2013, not the ideal 2015 but for the price I'm more than willing to try. Will swap out all cells and sell my original ones on ebay ideally once i test them out.

Why? The grid charger isn't for bring up the total voltage, even though that happens. It's for balancing the voltage in all the cells.

Ah! Yes, it would be nice to know that. And you'd find out the total voltage when you plug in the Prolong. The display shows the battery voltage. (Assuming the new ones show the same info as my antique one. ;)) But, that would have required not driving it till he got the Prolong. Too late, now.

So my traction battery rebuild using parts from newpriusbatteries has been in wmy 2005 for nearly two months now. Mileage has improved: 42-45 mpg in town. That probably indicates lower resistance which means less heat generated. I live in the desert, and it has been hot here. There is no sign of overheating. I think the rebuild is better than the original battery.

Thanks for sharing and I'm very glad it's working great, perhaps even exceeding your expectations. That's what I like to hear. :)

They are in, inspected/tested, and now being shipped! Also they are all gone. Had 1 left that wasn't pre-sold when they arrived. That sold quickly. Had a cancellation today, and it was sold within a half hour. Next shipment will be mid to end of August...

When is the August shipment expected to ship from China, assuming no major issues with the shipping process?

Basically no August Shipment. Due to the delays and tariffs, added costs and transit times looks like the next shipment will arrive mid to late August. Could change, and I'd know for sure end of next week. But best guess is September. Website is already update to reflect a September 1 date. Trying to get even more in this shipment to hopefully have something to actually put on a shelf as stock!

Best news I got yesterday! Already prepping for the install. Didn't want to dismantle too much of the car ahead of time in case I forgot how it goes back together.

So will any of the trade restrictions affect your shipments?

Yes it has and will. Hopefully supply issues will be resolved by early next year. But the increased clearing times into and out of China and into and out of the USA means shipments are delayed. To the end customer this hopefully means nothing more than instead of receiving a battery produced 2-3 weeks prior, it will be 2 months prior.

Toaster, what's the latest stats on your batteries currently in service? How many sold, Highest mileages? Any issues at all? Also, are the vent tubes no longer required?

If your price does not change and you manage to hold some stock stateside, you'll likely see my business down the road. You should consider teaming up with some local Prius shops in major cities who could then keep some kits in stock and offer installation too.

Unfortunately I don't have GPS trackers on each kit, so I have no insight as to how many miles or even how they are being used in the wild except from customers that email me to thank me or provide updates.

As far as I know the highest mileage vehicles are in fleet use (taxis) in Quebec and Arizona. Two very different climates! Last I had heard, the miles were already over 50k miles on some of the packs with no problems and that was some time ago. But I don't get regular updates like that from everyone.

On an individual basis, just one pack to one customer, it's a few hundred. But the volume of sales is much higher on the bulk side, like to fleet owners and independent hybrid shops, usually 5-10 at a time many times over.

I'd love to keep some in stock. So far, hasn't been possible. I had stock for about 4 hours last shipment.

Toyota has a recycling program for their batteries and it looks like dealers would be obligated to accept dead packs even after Toyota may have moved away from NiMH batteries. Do you have any pointers on where these batteries you sell could be recycled once they reach End-of-Life? Obviously, none of us would want these to end up in the land fill.

    Thanks in advance.
