Hi friends - I'm trying to solve my parent's '07 AC issue. Basically it blows warm / hot air. Could be a number of things, so I finally got Techstream up and running, and here's my first attempt to pull some data. What are my next steps to investigate? I've never messed with the AC before so be patient with me. They're at 230k and still running on the original HV battery. Thanks!
Click on the snowflake icons for more detail. The B1421 code just means that you prius was probably in the shade r a garage as the solar sensor didn’t sense the sun. Freeze frame data for the hv battery looks good though .
Does it NEVER blow cold? I have seen AC that sometimes works and doesn't, that ended up being the first signs of the inverter cooling pump failing. Has the refrigerant charge level sightglass been checked? Is it fully plugged in at the inverter? The plug is located at the front passenger side of the inverter.
Just to follow up on this topic for anyone who may be searching in the future ... it ended up being the compressor. $$$. My parents had Toyota do the work. I didn't want to fiddle with this one.
