I know many many people have asked this but I haven't seen a poll on the forum asking what y'all think is the best color. For me, best means something that will look good for the longest time. I live in a very sunny place and dark colors fade and oxidize fast, no matter the brand, so for my conditions what would be the best paint? I was thinking Classic Silver Metallic or Blizzard Pearl and I considered Super White but have heard it is a single stage paint, which may not have the longevity in my climate.
In the garage when at home (but I work around 60 hours a week so it sits outside a fair bit) and wash it every so often (once every other month during the non-rainy season months). It’s held up well. So my answer to you would be find the Gen3 that has the options you want at the price that you like and pull the trigger. Good luck with your decision .
Own pearl white but overall I like barcelona red the most. Solar was a must, black roof looks best on white prius.
I have a silver 2010 Prius. Even on the hot humid days here in Florida, the inside does not get near as hot as my white Chrysler T&C. It still gets hot, but not nearly so. I think silver is the way to go for heat. White seems to heat up slower and not disburse it quickly, black attracts it and transfers it faster, so maybe silver is in the middle. Choose the color you like, use the a/c, and take care of the paint and it should last.
This is my first white vehicle. First Prius. (Blizzard Pearl.) I chose this color because I thought it might stay a bit cooler, as I am always parked outside. Very warm, dry, and dusty in my location, so I wash it every other week. Wax it every couple of months. (Red was my 2nd choice.) Sorry, am I in the wrong forum again?
Yes but we won’t hold it against you. Yours looks good with the tint on the front. What level tint is it? Thinking about putting ceramic on the wife’s RX450h: Trying to keep the heat out and protect the battery .
I really need to get mine tinted! I was going to buy the precut tint ($28). The door windows would be easy. But the rear with the defogger I would probably screw up because I no longer have the patients to do it!
I’m outsourcing to a local shop that has the Huper Optik ceramic tint. $350 for the front windows and windshield I thought wasn’t too bad . Unless there are other opinions, the deed gets done at the end of the month.
$350, ouch! I've been quoted $160-200. That's kinda doable. The hatch window with the defogger strips would take some patience. It would have to be a good day for me to get it right, and EVERYTHING would have to go perfectly, but I KNOW that won't happen! Is it worth me trying???? I'm still debating it. Because if I screw it up, it will be hard to remove and risk damaging the defogger, which I would have to fix, before getting the window tinted, correctly.... Which means doing work and not only NOT getting paid for, but having to SPEND money! So it's looking more like having someone do it because spending THAT money would be healthier for me! I haven't asked what it would cost to ONLY do the hatch and the windshield. But I imagine it wouldn't be much less than having all the windows done.
I actually like ALL the colors. The white just happened to have a good discount that day. And the paint hasn't peeled yet, and my windshield hasn't cracked yet, and nobody has PEELED my steering wheel like a banana yet!
LOL!!!!!!! The tint is the darkest Llumar tint they had at the shop. Probably a little too dark. Have to be extra careful when driving at night. But I rarely drive at night. People here in Hollyweird are always mistaking me for Bruce Willis... hounding me for autographs... so I need to hide behind dark tint. (kidding. I'm not anywhere near Hollyweird)
or they think I'm a gangsta..... Back on topic. My white shows a lot of dirt. But I'm retired and bored, so I don't mind washing it often.
Since this is the wife’s car, I won’t be pushing the limits . Thinking 50% will be sufficient as 70% is what normally exists . With that level of tint, no one sees all those cheeseburgers you’ve gotten.
