This must be 2018 model. We should have a separate thread from 2017 model.

I am about to buy a Prius prime advanced trim and debating between 2017 and 2018 model. I apologize if this is not the best thread to ask this question but I did not want to create a thread.

there are the two best quotes from a dealer.

    2017 Prius Prime Advanced
    MSRP: $ 34,638
    Price before TTL: $ 28,577

    2018 Prius Prime Advanced
    MSRP: $ 34,638
    Price before TTL: $ 30,677

    I have three questions.

    1. If I buy a 2017 model (new car) in 2018, do I still get tax incentives from both Fed and State?

    2. Is it advisable to buy a 2017 model in 2018 considering the car has been sitting on the lot for about 7 months without being charged?

    3. Is 2k price difference in between 2017 and 2018 model enough to justify the depreciation?

If anyone of you could please help me with this, that will be awesome. Thanks.

No rebate. I got the 1.9% financing though and the dealer took a bit more than 2k off MSRP. Matched a deal that I found from CarMax in Laurel, MD.

Brand new Prime. They have 10 on their lot. Both 2017 and 2018 with no haggle prices.

I have been trying to get better deal over few days. Currently this is what I am getting.

    2017 PP advanced (build date : 12/02/17)
    MSRP: 34,638
Price before TTL: 28,577 (I may be able to get it for 27,638)

    2018 PP advanced (build date : 04/15/18)
    MSRP: 34,638
    Price before TTL: 29,638

Wondering which one to get. By the way this price is from an Oregon dealer.

There are only a few of these 2017s left in Socal right now. I've been looking at an Advanced model for the last week or so. I've been able to get pricing down to like $29.5k on 2017s and $30.5k on 2018s. Anyone been able to do better?

    Also found a CU to finance me @ 2.99% @ 60 or 72 mos

    Thoughts?

i would drive them both and decide if the 18 is worth the extra grand. i suppose it will fetch a higher value upon resale someday.
is there a toyota rebate involved in each year, or is it all dealer discounts?

Anyway to get a 2017 Prius Prime with at least premium here in california for under 26k before tax incentives? Also are dealer taxes the same as private party taxes?

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forums here, but have been soaking in the wealth of information on Priuschat (thank you!).
I've been looking to take advantage of the July 4 rebate ($1500 off Prius Prime) and got a quote for around $29,700 (9.25% tax) for a 2018 Prius Prime premium. I plan on buying a car this year because my 1999 civic is really unreliable. I'm debating on whether I should wait till the end of November since I read the 2019 Prius Prime is slated for release this Dec (via carsdirect article) and even if this isn't the case, I'm assuming that better deals are to be had towards the end of the year. Is this a good deal or should I wait?
