Front subframe alignment ?

I've just replaced the front lower control arms, ball joints, and outer tie-rod ends. To get the right lower control arm removed I had to loosen and shift the front subframe.

I noted what appeared to be subframe alignment holes when I was reinstalling and tightening the subframe bolts.

However, the factory manual does not mention anything about aligning the subframe.

This strikes me as odd. Especially since the subframe has A LOT of play when the bolts are merely loosened.

Can anyone offer their experience with regards to the subframe on the Prius?

    Thanks,
    Jason

Alignment would be best with all you've done.

That passenger side really adds to the job with the oil pan in the way. Figured that one out myself as well.

I'll definitely be getting an alignment - along with new tires (it's time).

But do tires places such as Town Faire Tire (here in the northeast US) make the effort to adjust the subframe when making adjustments? Or do they simply stick with the standard things like tie-rod ends and suspension bolt changes?

In the Repair Manual I don't see anything regarding aligment of the sub-frame. I do have a vague memory though, of seeing mention of "match marks" in some instructions, gen 2 or gen 3; too late for that though.

Have a look at the attachment, encompasses engine removal and install. The last pages says to check wheel alignment.

Would think making sure wheels aligned will fix anything going on with the sub frame.
