What next, "he didn't give me a gold star" today? double waah & 3 boo hoo's. Pretty easy to tell who the UAW moles are.
Hard to believe that the detractors actually think people would be stupid enough to buy into all of this. Er - i mean no oher people ... no one on this forum.

If my grand kid ever gets hysterical about his football coach yelling? - jeez really? .... so if some moron is about to get run over by a forklift? Better ask 'em sweetly & sof5lt to kindly watch out. Sorry you dumb UAW mole .... factories are usually noisy & wearing hearing protection? You BETTER be yelling if you wana be heard. What next? - he looked at me? meanly?

I openly admit to being right leaning on a political and cultural level. The sad thing is, I was calling out Breitbart's hypocritical Tesla bashing obsession in recent weeks. Earlier today, I found my posting privileges in the latest day old FUD report (from Bezos er Business Insider) had been revoked. I was appalled since this was the kind of treatment I would expect from the likes of Huffington Post for not towing the party line but was not expecting it at the former. It gets increasingly hard to be a free thinker in today's fractured political climate.

Excellent for Tesla. The more tesla cars on the road the more batteries will be sold. I need more tesla modules to increase the range on my prius plug-in. If I can have 6 modules, my prius would do around 80-100miles fully charged. I am "nice oscar" on YouTube.

Thanks Oscar, you get it. Tesla's success will make everyone more successful (except traditional stearlerships) regardless of what brand car you drive. It is not about a particular car company, it is about living in a cleaner and more healthy environment. And I am happy to see Jaguar join the party with their I-Pace.

    Greetings Oscar!

The world needs more nice people to counterbalance the crumudges like me. :)

    @UAW moles....
    Yeah.
Those labor unions. What are ya gonna do - eh?

I'm a frequent critic of Elon.
    Don't get me wrong.
He has totally disrupted two of the most impossible industries on the planet to blaze new trails in (rockets and cars) and he's really DOWN with the idea that his businesses will save humanity.
He's put a half a gigabuck of his own money into both, and I think that if he doesn't wind up being burned in effigy in SanFran in the next ten years, they're going to be naming high schools and state parks after him.

However (comma!) he's got to quit it with the side hustles like flame throwers that don't and playing with TBMs in a seismically active area.
More importantly Tesla fans have to dial it back with the intensity just a little bit.
Yeah.....Tesla is getting criticized by people who don't know the difference between a BEV and an ICE, and some of that criticism is a little bit unfair.
Kinda like getting yelled at by your high school football coach when he or she is trying to make a point to the team. ;)

I got sneered at yesterday by a would-be Tesla fanatic who insisted that I was a moron for suggesting that for now somebody might want to consider a Bolt rather than wait for a 3.
She accurately quoted the fact that the 3 under-reported their range to the EPA at 310 miles.....that the 3 was cheaper than the Bolt which "only" gets 230 miles, and......it's much better quality and looks badass!

...How can you argue with facts like those?

The problem isn't growing pains...and it isn't inflated stock prices....and it isn't the fact that most people still have range anxiety....BEVs are still a niche vehicle, or FUD on the part of ICE fans (no....the other ICE!)
The problem is that most people are really BELIEVING that a fully autonomous capable, 310-mile, sub 5-second 0-60, Tesla 3 will start hitting the streets in just a few months and they're going to be more dependable than Toyota and less than $35,000 because that's what they're seeing in social media.......

The lady was right about ONE thing....
They do look a lot better than a Bolt.

    But then I drive a Prius ;)

Every manufacturer has their fans that go overboard.
I've been sneered at by Volt fans for choosing a Model S.
I've been sneered at by Prius fans for choosing a Volt, or Tesla.
And yes, a few Tesla fans will sneer at others for choosing something else.

If you actually go to a meeting, most fans of any of these companies are far more supportive.

Your "problem" is largely imaginary. I have spoken with 1000s of people about Teslas. Many of these I have recommended a Bolt, or Volt, or Prime, or Leaf or used Leaf to.
I also have attended owner introduction meetings, participated in social network discussions and heard salespeople selling Tesla vehicles.
It is very difficult to come away with the impression you mention.
Perhaps if someone read a single headline of a social media post, not any of the replies, spoke with no owners and didn't listen to the sales rep, then you might get those impressions.

I agree, but he does deserve to have some fun with his own money. I also think he needs to dial it back on Twitter and stop all the cutesy side banter there.
I am a BEV fanatic. My BEV of choice is a Tesla model 3, but there are other BEVs out there that might fit some people's needs, including a Bolt. I will not dial it back for a minute. In terms of air quality and climate change, the sky IS falling. It reminds me of the battle opposed to smoking in public places which started back in the early '70's. Society has been changed for the better as a result of concerned people NOT dialing back the intensity on that issue (one public smoking advocate politician tried to get me fired from my job as a result of my public anti-smoking stance and failed). Consequently, I am dialing up the intensity to battle the special interest groups like the stock manipulators, oil industry, dealership lobby, and legacy automaker complacency. The battle continues.

    I'll give Tesla this....
They are better than going to a brick and mortar dealer by a ton!

Comparing a Volt with an S is kinda silly since the only thing that they have in common is that both have 4 wheels....but yeah, I get your point.
A Bolt versus 3 is a more logical stare and compare, just as a Prime versus Volt is......with each pairing having advantages and disadvantages that can be compared and contrasted on a more or less apples to apples basis. (ish....)

All of that is fair enough....but remember with Tesla he's not betting with HIS money.
Granted...there are MUCH MUCH MUCH shadier criminals on the Wall Street, and it's very unlikely that dot.gov will be put on the hook for bailing out Tesla and BREAKING FEDERAL BANKRUPSY LAWS to save UAW jobs....but in the case of Tesla my humble math skills tell me the same thing about Tesla that they do about the US debt loading.
Combine that with POTUS-like social media skills and tolerance to criticism, AND industry competition, AND supply side headwinds and I see the possibility of a fairly big train wreck that might leave the BEV brand more damaged on the backside of Tesla's ballistic trajectory than they were lofted on the front side.

There's another thread about an alternative transportation fuel source for the 2040's that was stillborn in the 1930's by ONE BAD publicity story.....that was still reverberating through social media in 69 when a certain rock band was thinking about cover art. Although the album was not critically well-received when first released, it was commercially successful and the band went on to something of a successful career.....

He has a significant portion of his money in Tesla, not a majority interest, but a significant portion.

Sorry, but you lost me right after "Wall Street."

    One of many...
    Because.....?
They know nothing about the stock market?
There are no lessons to learn about bubbles?
    Government loans?
IPOs of $17.00 versus current stock prices?

    Perhaps....

Like I said, I hope they make it but I'm just saying that they're tossing the dice.....and although no one can deny that Musk has pushed all of his personal money onto the green table at one time or another, and he's not in it for the profit, there are a lot of other people's money out on the table WITH his.

If your North Star is BEVs and renewable junk, then you SHOULD BE concerned.

Tossing the dice is better form, but not a complete gamble. Odds are always in favor of an intelligent entrepreneur.

Intelligent and committed to leaving the planet better than he found it....to be sure.

Even his detractors have to admit that!

actually he is. As the head of the corporation, his pay contract is public. Unbelievable as it may seem, if the stated production goals are not met, he doesn't get paid at all. Yes, there will still be profit from stocks. But still, you don't see that many corporate heads willing to put that kind of standard on the line.

The Tesla production numbers: Monthly Plug-In Sales Scorecard

    model Mar Apr May Jun
    1 Model 3 3820 3875 6250 6062
    2 Model S 3375 1250 1520 2750
    3 Model X 2825 1025 1450 2550

Tesla reports 5,000 Model 3 in the last week of June suggesting 1,000 were made in the first three weeks of June. The only thing that makes sense is Tesla 'sandbagging' the Model 3 numbers by holding them back to avoid going over the 200,000, tax credit limit.

You are simply wrong. From InsideEVs:
"Every month InsideEVs tracks all the plug-in EV sales/deliveries for the United States by automaker and brand"
The problem with InsideEVs numbers is that, by their own admission, these numbers are guesstimates particularly in the case of Tesla which doesn't release these numbers except for quarterly reports. Second, the number of sales/deliveries is often vastly different than the numbers produced. Elon did say last Sunday that Tesla produced 5000 model 3s and 2000 model S/X in in the last week of June. His numbers are approximately accurate. He did not say how many cars were produced the first three weeks in June. It is estimated that 10,000 - 12,000 model 3s were produced in that period, so a total of at least 15,000 model 3s produced in the month of June. I believe that Tesla did stockpile and withhold production cars in order to maximize the 200K expiry date until early July. You have not seen the photographs of the 1000's of Tesla's stockpiled on their parking lots or in transit. Recently, a new Tesla owner was told by one of the employees that the Tesla Delivery Center in Costa Mesa, Ca, was delivering 160 cars a day, 7 days a week since last Sunday. That is over 1000 cars a week at just one (a busy one) of dozens of delivery centers spread across the US.

Your post is misleading and not well researched.

Those are sales numbers, and an estimate for Tesla at that.
Figure final quality inspects and delivery means the majority of the cars made last week had a chance to be delivered to their owners, and an official sale is only counted once the new car is delivered or registered to the buyer.
