Thanks, Jack. With your advice, I too installed in grill (mounted above center chrome, shining down and reflecting forward) and my COB LED's work fine. The 3M DBF tape that came with the lights may not be robust enough to secure to grill (the lights tend to get hot and one drooped already). So, I am going to try Gorilla Tape next. Other than tape, I cannot think of another means of attachment given that the frame of the lights does not include space or tabs for physical mounting.

Anyhoo, they work and I intend to have them lit whenever driving.

Thanks to you and all for your contributions.

Hi. Where is "the connection block"? I am installing DRLs too. Also, do you have a suggestion for which under the hood wire to splice the 12V power-on wire connection? Thanks.

I now leave my HID headlights on when driving. I've learned that "flashing" them when turned off puts extraordinary wear on the bulbs and ballasts. Ordinary halogen lamps don't have this issue.

I've had to replace the passenger-side lamp twice in 13 years (check Youtube and do it yourself in less than 5 minutes, not the dealer for $300). I get them on eBay for $50. I was told the reason is that they made some flawed ballasts.

I've had some experience with high power 12-volt, COB 5 watt LED's that run too hot for their own good. eBay has some small tubes of stuff they call 'heatsink plaster' for under $1 that gives a strong semi-permanent bond. When stuck to a piece of aluminum, the LED's last much longer. Regular heat sink goo remains so soft it requires additional mounting. You could mount the aluminum, paint it, etc. however you wish.
