Is there any other way to tell if the update was applied? Maybe using Techstream and see the software version?
I tried to put my vin in Toyotaowners.com, but it says it's not valid Toyota VIN. Maybe because mine is EU version...

I'm the second owner, but as far as I can remember, the local Toyota dealer said that the whole inverter has been changed under warranty at around 60k miles.

 

In the link below, there is a Dutch-language document that I found on the Toyota-Tech.eu website by inserting my VIN: when the inverter is updated they make a red mark above it. My car (2014) mounts the G9200 - 47190 inverter (with red mark).

Hi I don't know if it's related at all but my 2010 model recently had a P0A80 diagnostic on the battery from the local Toyota dealer and checking on the Toyota recall site it does apply for the Safety Recall E0E, NHTSA ID recall 14V053. What I want to know is: could my diagnostic of the dead battery code be influenced in any way by this recall situation or could it be causing a false positive P0A80 code? The recall problem in describing pretty much everything that is happening to my car. Thanks.

I don't think the battery problem is connected to the inverter issue. The P0A80 code may be due to a faulty cell (or several cells) inside the battery. Through an obd adapter and a program / app you can check the status of the individual cells. The hardware that controls the status of the cells (signal electronics) is different from the hardware that manages the current in the IGBT (power electronics). The problem of inverters should concern an inadequate dissipation of IGBTs in case of current peaks.

Can a faulty inverter damage even one or more cells? A still working inverter, but with too stressed IGBTs, can it ruin the battery? I think not: in cases where the inverter broke and then it was replaced, the batteries did not have any problems.

I got news, today I got my car back. No actions were taken because my dealer told me I have the latest software on my ECU. I asked if they could give me the version numbers of my software and they replied there isn't any to identify the releases. Seems quite unlikely but I'll let this one pass. I just don't trust my dealer, hope I don't regret it.

I just had the IPM fail on my 2015.

 

How many miles?
What did it do when it failed?
Cost to repair?

I’m going to buy an IPM from a recycler to have on hand in the event mine fails. Can still get them with low miles.

 

Yesterday I was driving warning lights came on hybrid system,lost power in my 2012 prius c.How do I get on lawsuit for my car.Pretty sure it is ipm ,I have serviced my car regularly,put best gas in.

Recently had the software recall done on my 2012 Prius V. Never had any problems with this car before. Driving 5 weeks after the software install, the Inverter Fails.

Getting quoted very high prices on repairs.

Anyone else had failure after the software install?

 

Seen post of inverters fail after update, check to see if your inverter is still under warranty first before looking into repair prices.

 

I might be wrong, but I thought they extended the warranty for these inverters to 15 years.

I've only had my car a couple weeks and haven't gone for the recall, does anyone know if you are required to have the recall performed to receive the warranty extension?
