    Hello,

I need to replace my A/C compressor unit, water has leaked through the connector located on the top of compressor and seems like the water not only damaged the connector (corroded pins), but also made its way into electronics comparent.. one car-electrician tried to bypass the connector by drilling holes into compressor and making new cable trunk.. the compressor wouldnt start, and still gives a faulty code on diagnostic..
Attached is the photo of my compressor that shows original label.. I want to find a used compressor.. the code is 042200 -0402 , then there is a space, and continues 8P 04075.
I can find many used units with 04220-0402, but cannot find any with 8P 04075..
Question for you, is the code important from start to the end of line, or the 8P 04075 is not important?
Who shall i contact to provide me with the right answer?

If I were the one, I'd I won't bother with the other P/N thing, as long as the compressor configuration and connector position is the same.

Get another compressor from a junkyard, and replace with.

Ensure you or your AC tech uses the right compressor oil for the job, if not you'd have expensive repairs at the end.

After replacing the compressor, use a tightening clip to replace the clip on the water hose. It would also be best to replace that hose to a new one, considering aging must have had its toll on the clip and the water hose, or for preventive reasons, you can also envelope a kind of polythene, that's heat resistant on that water hose connections too.

Look up Gates PowerGrip hose clamps for another alternative. They are a pain to remove, I’ve found, but do provide a nice even seal. Make sure it is completely over the underlying nipple so it doesn’t constrict unsupported area of the hose if you do go that route. Good idea to replace the hose if you use them too, as they are difficult too remove. (I still don’t know where to get the special tool that they made for removing them without damaging the hose. I also realize it may be hard to position that clamp removal tool depending on hose/fitting location)....

I find that a dealer's parts house will usually help you on part numbers even if you don't buy from them. Sometimes you can get a new part online from another dealer for much less as well but have one of the dealers look up the actual part number you need based on your vin. I agree with the compressor oil concern, don't let just anyone change, vacuum and charge the unit. Probably want to buy some oil from Toyota to be sure.

A pair of pinches can be used to grip and remove that clamp.

I think “ES27C” is the part number. Do a Google search and you’ll see what I mean...

    Hello everybody,

I finally got a replacement a/c compressor unit from scrapyard for 100euro, and i also bought a brand new connector from toyota dealer for 50euro( crazy money, single pin costs 9euro, and there are 6pins in connector!), to replace the corroded one.
I have a question, can someone tell me where to find the pin-out diagram for the a/c connector? I am talking about the black signalling cable, that connects on the top of the a/c compressor unit - this cable controls the compressor. There is also orange cable, that powers the compressor, that one is ok.
Previous mechanic removed the corroded connector when trying to fix my a/c and he doesnt respond to me for some reason.. unable to contact him.. many thanks!

Okay, I found the wiring for my ‘12 Prius v. I have not figured out the wiring order yet, but as a start, let’s match up the colors:

    G(reen)
    Y(ellow)
    R(ed)
    W(hite)
    V(iolet)
    W-B white with black stripe

I attached two photos of the new connector.. in detailed view, you can see numbers 6-on the left, and number 1-on the right.
I just need to assign the colours to these numbers - in correct order :)

Okay, we are almost there. I am still learning how to read the wiring diagram. Can you confirm that I have the correct wire colors while I do this?

    Jzchen,

Dont get me wrong, but.. how much sure are you about the colour-numbering?
Just if i connect them wrong, i might damage the compressor :):)
Please can you doublecheck, and confirm?
    Thank you very much!

By the way, where are you getting this information from, do you have some schematic wiring diagram?
