Hey guys - trying to think about what color prime I want, both interior and exterior. I test drove the magnetic gray with moonstone interior. Initially I liked how different the moonstone is since I've traditionally had fully black leather interiors. I also think magnetic gray is understated and classy. During my test drive I was kind of overwhelmed with so much going on in the interior. I didn't think that was a result of moonstone but went to the dealer tonight to just look at variosu prime colors while the dealership was closed. Looking at the black interior, it was much more subdued but also classy and relaxing (my eye isn't darting around everywhere). The interior design is somewhat radical enough and now I'm thinking the black interior works quite nice. Anyone else make this same jump? By the way, I think white is definitely my pick for exterior color - the contrast pops all over and it just stands out. Blizzard exterior/Black interior may very well be the ticket.
I asked my salesperson which was more popular. Answer:BLACK by a large margin. Plus black gets you a black lower console so you only need the get the shifter appliqué to cover the stark white bezel.
I like the Blizzard Pearl/black interior a lot. I read one or two posts here where the white interior was starting to show dirt. Other than not liking it, the dirt issue on white was my primary fear, beside reminding me of a killer whale. My black interior is very easy to maintain. I just use a damp towel to wipe it down. My 2014 4Runner has the exact same black interior and it still looks new. I don't mind the white bezel inside. It gives it a "little" contrast, but is not too much for me.
It's of course a matter of personal preference in the end, but I got a black interior for my Prime. Early on in my car research, I test drove a "regular" Prius that had the Moonstone interior and I noticed that it already was dirty inside. I live in an area with snowy winters and wet, muddy springs, so the seasonal "muck" also factored into my decision to get the black (and the all weather mats!). Best of luck on your purchase!
I got the moonstone. After a year of not cleaning, I can see the dust on the dash. LOL I get a lot of compliments on the interior though. The white parts of the seat don't get hot when sitting out in the sun. Can't deny that nicety. There is a lot of white though. I wrapped in textured carbon fiber the white around the shifter, the white under the steering wheel, and one of these days, I'm going to paint the center console black.
I have Titanium Glow exterior and a Black interior. The dealer had one with a moonstone (which I initially thought I would like), but it just clashed horribly with the Titanium Glow.
Why did they name black and white monotone interior "Moonstone"? It has no resemblance to the same named gemstone, a sodium potassium aluminium silicate.
We originally were looking for a blizzard pearl/moonstone Advanced, since better half did NOT want black. Wish they would have offered the tan interior like our 2015 4 had. The more we looked at the moonstone, the less we liked it. We finally settled on black interior and I’ll be tinting windows soon. It really cooks you in this heat. iPad ?
