I just refilled my tank, had 60.5 MPG on the computer, put 11.3 gallons in and calculated 62.6 for the 709 miles I had when I refueled. Attached is a picture of the more than 700 miles I took this morning after my commute to work. Still a lot to learn about this car, but I would still love it if it was only getting 45MPG B)
Congrats! I don't think I will obtain your numbers. Today, I was down to 2 blips on the fuel gauge and decided to fill up at Wal-Mart. I had 594 miles on the ODO. I'm now convienced I can go 600 miles on a tank if I need to. I only (only he said, by golly it still great) got 53.5mpg this tank BUT, my son drove the car down to Austin and back plus we made another 60 mile highway trip. AC running, multiple people in car. So, the majority of the miles was highway miles. I'm super happy! Again, Congrats!
Just like when they finally added the 100,000 digit to the odometers a while back, they'll soon have to raise that 100mpg bar on the MFD!
Nice job! How in the hell, do you get the first 5 minutes almost to the 75 mark! I am lucky to get 30 in the first 5. I have tried using battery, P&G, all ICE. It dosn't seem to matter as the ICE satys on to begin with during warmup. Soooooooooo. how'd you do it?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mike_m @ Aug 2 2006, 12:19 PM) </div> Who's to say he didn't drive for more than 30 minutes? Any time over 30 minutes and the bars scroll off to the left, dropping the leftmost bar.
Great job! That's truly impressive. I'm not going to get above 700 miles with this tank though I suspect I could. Tomorrow, I'm carpooling again and I know my passenger will insist on the A/C which will hurt my mileage. Currently, I have about 550 miles and 61.4 MPG with one blip remaining. Going to refill tonight so that when I have to run the A/C tomorrow I can rest my worrisome head knowing that I have the whole rest of the tank to recoop.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DanMan32 @ Aug 2 2006, 12:45 PM) </div> DUH..... That makes sense. I haven't made that many trips over 30 minutes at a time, so it didn't compute.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mike_m @ Aug 2 2006, 11:19 AM) </div> I drive more than 30 minutes to work, I have been able to get around 50 MPG during the first five, but you have to really work to do it. The engine has to hit a certain temp before you can start gliding with the ice off. I just accel hard and don't try to pulse and glide for the first couple of minutes and it seems to heat up faster.
Nice job, Pcflorida. I guess I will have to go for 750 on one tank. Then you would post 755 miles on one tank. Too bad I am away on travel. Maybe next month when I return. Thanks, Chris
wtg!! makes my 650 look weak... but im now at 378 miles @ 63.7 mpg so looking like a good run at another tank record...love this hot weather!!
Wow. Maybe if I could fill my tank more than 6.5 gallons at fillup I could go that far... but I'm stuck around 400.
