Why Clock Lose 1m repeatedly?

They probably are sync'ed to the power line.
Unless you have a REALLY long extension cord, your car can't do that.

Listen....The Prius is first and foremost a vehicle. Not a Swiss Made Chronological time keeping device.
I'd be perfectly happy with a loss of a minute every two months. What's the worst case scenario here? You find yourself 6 minutes slow after a year?

The effort of keeping a log seems more intensive than simply resetting the clock every month or so.

If it was me? I'd consider it mildly annoying, but simply reset the clock every 4-6 weeks.

I'm old school and still wear a regular watch. But I don't expect my vehicle dashboard clock to be the Atomic Clock for me.
I will however admit I had an old 1990's Honda Accord that had a dashboard clock that was amazing...but except for that? I don't think I ever have had a dashboard clock that was "perfect".

Mine gains minutes too, which is also annoying because I can't pass the gate at work before a certain time and I do want to be there at that time. So then I'm standing there with my clock showing I should be able to pass but the gate says no.
And you see it on your navigation. Then it tells you you'll reach your destination at some time, that time shows on your dash and you're still 2 minutes from your destination. Really annoying.
I once had a radio that synced the time via RDS. That wasn't all to great either because my favourite station would not update their clocks to DST and later even that began to drift several minutes.
I know not all Prii have GPS navigation, but would it have been so difficult to make an update from GPS if it was available? Well seeing how Toyota handles external music sources I guess it is.

 

That makes sense to me because I haven't had this issue with any other car.

 

I’m glad it’s not just me. I lose time...maybe 1-2 seconds a day. It may sound whiny, but I have NEVER had this issue with other vehicles (including motorcycles). Time keeping is such old hat that a digital clock falling out of sync by whole seconds every day is unacceptable except in bargain basement electronics. I would not expect this of Toyota and especially not the Prius. Almost daily I end up pressing the :00 button to sync with the time on my phone.

 

Mine gains a minute or two every few months. At least it's not hard to change it to the correct time

 

When you're retired... you don't need no stinkin clocks!

 

I think my favorite letter ever from a car company was one I got when my clock in an old Ford wasn't keeping good time.

Hickory, Dickery, Dock, three mice ran up the clock. The clock struck one and the rest got away with minor injuries.

 

When good customer service existed and humans actually wrote in response to customers. Now the pressing '0' don't even get you an operator.

The handwriting, instead of wordprocessor and printer, was an important touch.

 

Look close enough, and you see it was "word processed" ... most of it was handwritten and photocopied, with only the bits specific to my situation later written in.

I didn't find out what new engineering area they had put Deb on when they closed up the clock shop. I like to picture her trudging across the complex to a new office, pushing a giant bin of spare clock parts, that she still had around to mail off to people like me five years later.
