the manual mentions how that you can change the way how the remote unlocks the door from 2 clicks for all doors to one click as seen in the picture but it mentions it only for cars that are equipped with the OEM touchscreen radio (something that my one doesnt have) is there any way to change that setting easily ? also is it possible to change the basic radio to the OEM touchscreen or is that impossible ?
I don't think this is possible without the smart key system. If it is, it wouldn't hurt to try the same method that works with it. Press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the fob for about 5 seconds. If it works you should see a picture of the car appear on the multi-function display in the dash that shows all 4 doors open.. I remember a thread here a few years ago where someone with a 2012 Prius C One upgraded his radio to the entertainment system in the level 3 and 4 trim. I believe it was not a simple remove and replace operation and ended up being a real chore. Perhaps things are different in the 2014 model year.
Ugh the pains of not being able to afford the options straight on Well thanks for the answer, I'll give it a try to see if the method works I also found the thread and gave it a read Sadly I was very discouraged by it since I'm still new to cars in general
Manual is correct, I changed that myself in my own C. As for putting in a touchscreen radio, I was pretty sure there was a thread here on Prius chat asking that very question. But I cannot find it. May be worth a search on YouTube - if it's been done, there's someone who's posted a video of how to do it.
You can take your radio out and put in any double din radio. I've seen a few folks take out the highlander touchscreen radio from salvage vehicles and put it in their car with no issues.
