The KYB suspension strut coil assembly is on worldwide backorder and I have not been able to get answers on availability/timing. I called kyb by they would not talk with me (not a retailer ). Has anyone heard about this part availability or should I go with the TRQ brand alternative?

you could try koni fsd but they're twice as expensive. i have the front koni fsd struts on mine. several other people also say they are an upgrade compared to oem / kyb. i like them, much better handling

Just went to autoanything 88$ and ordered a front strut for 10prius, put it in my cart, went to PayPal, they didn’t indicate that the part was on backorder
Then advanced auto parts, 150$ in the cart, no backorder signals.

Thanks for the suggestions....I am looking for the kyb front strut spring combo. From what I saw on those sites they only have the strut.

you could just to the fronts (struts) now and then do the shocks (rear) later. left and right should be done at the same time, but front and back dont have to be done at the same time.

I went ahead and had the rear done. Am waiting on parts for the front but won’t hold my breath. Luckily the back has improved the handling but rid is a bit stiff unless under a bit of extra weight.

I think shocks (dampers) take about 1000 miles to wear in. That or you could lower the tire pressure.

About 200,000 but should have done it sooner to save the tires. I have also overloaded the car on a couple xc trips that may have done extra wear.

I find the KYB aftermarket to be a bit on the firm side ... it's been my experience .. and I'm speaking of cars that come with them OE.

For what it's worth I put Koni FSDs on my motorhome. Made a huge difference in ride and handling. :)
