anyone have experience changing the left side control arm? I read a post regarding the right side control arm and lifting the engine up a little just to remove a bolt. Is this the same for the left side? Any help is appreciated. thanks.
I don't think 'left side' ( drivers side in USA ) is a problem at all. BTW - I am preparing to change out the entire suspension on my Prius v (wagon)...it may be of interest to you. Suspension component torque specs? | PriusChat
Take a peek at my thread above. You need a beefy torque wrench as some of the torque specs are very high. I invested in a heavy duty one. Oh, and a long breaker bar is a must.
If the torque spec for install of some of the bolts is high, removal of those same bolts could be a bear. Bring a good quality corded electric impact, at least?
That's not a problem i have cordless impact wrenches. My main concern is do i need something to separate the ball joint from the spindle, like a fork tool. I don't see any videos on youtube on how to do this.
