Does anybody have any good ideas on how I can put some kind of trash receptacle in my Prime. Trash has started accumulating and there's not really an obvious place to put a trash bag.
A Prius PRIME should never look trashy. Stop frequently to toss things away properly. You never know when you are going to have to show off your baby. You are what you drive.
Put it in the backseats of the car in the middle. on the floor as there are not feet their cause no middle seat! Or back seat glove box
I bought a camouflage trash bag. It had two squares of sticky-backed Velcro that made it stay snug against the vertical surface just beside my right foot. Pull the Velcro pieces apart to empty. You could use just the Velcro on any bag.
This idea seems promising for the front seat. For the back seat it seems like that "hump" space is the perfect space for a trash, but I'm not sure how to get it to stay put in that spot.
Hang a grocery bag on the passenger seat headrest? Facing towards the back. Depends on how big the kids are. I just simply remove any trash everyday, when I'm through with driving. Can't stand trashy clutter. This subject comes up often, why would anyone allow trash to "accumulate" in their vehicle???
I got a Rubbermaid collapsible trash bin. Target has them for $10. It has Velcro on the bottom and I just stick it to the floor behind the center console Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I bought hooks that attach to the passenger headrest and hang recycled grocery bags lined with regular grocery bags.
I got this: and put it on the hump in the floor in the back seat. I did notice that there's a vent of some kind under the seat, though, which this blocks. I wonder if that's a concern.
a major concern. remove it before driving again, that vent keeps your hybrid battery cool. see your owners manual.
a purse won't completely block it, but something like clothing might. it won't explode but it could shut down the car, or damage the battery. you really should read the warning, it is very important.
It seems to me that if the consequences of someone putting a purse down there are so dire then it's a design flaw. But anyway, here's what it looks like with the trash in that spot. There's some clearance, assuming the trash doesn't shift to the back---maybe 1.5" or so.
I use a plastic bag (the ones from Target are the best (strongest, best size)) hanging from the head-rest posts on my 2009 Gen II. If you can't imagine what I'm talking about, I'll grab a couple of pics for you…
I picked up one of these for $2 at Walmart. Nice size, and collapsible. About the size of a coffee can. Those disposable produce bags from the supermarket are a perfect fit as liners.
