I've written and attached a review of the new MEG stabilizer bars. There really is a stiffening of the body that makes the Prius even more fun to drive. (I'm cross-posting in the Gen4 and Prime forums because the same bars fit on the same TNGA chassis)
Great write up. I’ll have to look these up. 2016 Prius 4 Touring IG - LowGen4 Megan Racing Coilovers Niche Targa 18x8
Ok, I’ve looked online and can’t find this company. Do you have a website address for us? 2016 Prius 4 Touring IG - LowGen4 Megan Racing Coilovers Niche Targa 18x8
Humm. I'm not sold. The only way to see a difference it's on the skid pad. Furthermore, to really stiff the frame, the bars should have been connected in pair. I got under braces - front and rear- under many of my cars.
Thank you for your comment. Our goal is to upgrade the driving experience, improve corner turns and safety in a fast and convenient installation for Prius driver and mechanics, because most of the drivers don’t want to modify too much of their car right? All you need to do just replace the original three stabilizers from the current TNGA chassis, you will definitely feel the difference. From Tony’s review and over 300 PS1 stabilizer users in Asia are amazes by this experience, this is why our users never remove PS1 once they installed. Little change brings huge effects. The braces you mentioned are for front and rear of the vehicle, but stabilizers for the TNGA chassis is the reinforcement of the car body. Given the right design and material on the stabilizers can really be a game changer which we did a lot of experiment and tests. Once again, thank you for your advice, we are also looking into bring out braces in the near future. Wish you could become our PS1 user soon and share your good experience with other Prius drivers.
Pretty good claim tbh. it will improve even more with your take (but by how much though? 6% at the additional cost of $800??). Once you take an account of cost to fab this will more likly than not will result in lower sales. Also if you care you can take a course in engineering dynamics...all your questions will be answered there (but be warned, you might get spanked by those pesky professors who wants to show off how smart(er) they are than you) Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I have another car that there are aftermarket frame braces and a lighter duty front sway bar sold. I bought the front sway bar and it did help the cars ride but never bought into the frame braces. I don't do any sport driving but if you do maybe they would help but there are no numbers to show how much they help.
Our mission is to upgrade Prius driving experience without too much modifications, only need to replace PS1 with original stabilizer bars. Review from one of our user as follows from our FB: “I used this on my Gen4 Prius, and it made a different on cornering, as well as overall stability. Like for instance when you're waiting at a turn signal and a car drives by usually i feel the car bowing left and right, with this it's more stable. It also helps with stabilizing the car with heavy winds during freeway drives. Pretty nice upgrade for a car with not too many aftermarket upgrades.”
I drive almost entirely in EV, being able to charge at home and at work. As such, I have no real MPG numbers. My EV distance, however, has remained unchanged.
Done and done. Install was easy. Was tempted to cut the underbody plastic to get at the bolts but it's a 2020 so like to keep it as unmessed up as possible. Feels stiffer driving for sure. Nice easy mod. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Hi All, just got a 2022 Prius Prime XLE and I can confirm that this car needs rear sway bars. I could not find anything online. I just want to reduce body roll for less wobble feeling. Any updates on the MEG Stabilizer bars? Do they help reduce the feel and make the car handle a bit more like a sports sedan? Thank you
Definitely do a front subframe brace. I assume the sway bar you're getting is Cusco and they make the front brace as well. Another option is Ultra Racing and their rear sway bar is solid like Cusco but their front is 1mm thicker than Cusco. Had I known, I would have probably gone with that brand. I have these MEG bars and it wasn't anything drastic. I actually removed two of them as I'm running a center brace that replaces those bars. Can't even sell them as it's not a complete set lol Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
