small, faint rattles somewhere near the door lock mechanism that appears to only occur at 50+ mph. Very faint but it is driving me nuts. I’m sure the dealer won’t be able to “hear” it. Anyone has this issue? It sounds like a loose nut or something in there somewhere. It could also be in the seat belt pillar area too (hard to pin point when you’re going at highway speed and can’t replicate it at low speed).
Yep, I have this too. Press on the area about of the seatbelt mechanism near your left ear. Right where the headliner meets the grey plastic.
I had rattling noises in both places you mentioned: Toward the rear of the driver's door and in the seatbelt adjustment mechanism. I corrected them today by adding felt tape to the back of the plastic "sleeve" of the seat belt adjuster. I pulled off the driver's door panel and added felt tape to essentially every wire bundle that I could find as well as to all points of contact between the door trim panel and the metal door frame to which it attaches. I'm happy to report that this took care of all the rattling noises (including the ones made when I play the radio).
I have the same rattling noise from driver's side seatbelt since day 1. My first maintenance was in a freezing date and they couldn't take care of it. It does drive me nut during high cruise speed. I can't reproduce during normal city driving. Majority highway/HOV when going beyond 100+km/hr. Sometimes during EV mode but for sure during HV mode. When there is noise, I just pull the seat belt forward and it will go away.. I know you guys fixed that by adding felts but shouldn't it be part of bumper to bumper warranty? I am not saying it is a seat belt safety issue but I would tell them it is because it could be something loose in there. I have no talents to take the car apart.. as I am sure taking them apart is easy but putting them back could be a nightmare lol. It seems this is an ongoing issues since Gen2/3 and so on... a QA issue from Toyota?
