Well, they did that. One bad cell, all connectors replaced. Running. Hope it last for awhile. I believe the 12v will be replaced (almost 11 years in the car). Cost $650 plus $275 for the 12V. Supposedly all discharged and reconditioned. This will be a good test to see the nature of the work. But it sure shows the longevity of 2007 technology.
I'm guessing that's the quote from the dealer. The OEM 12v battery is a Panasonic from Japan which is why it's pricy. Probably the best 12v battery on the market, but not worth the extra cost. Any vented AGM battery of similar capacity will do just fine as a replacement. You want high capacity (amp-hours), not high CCA. I used some ~$200 battery from a local auto store because mine was dead and I wanted to fix it that day as opposed to waiting for shipping. I'm sure there's much better alternatives in the Camry Hybrid size, I just don't have a specific model to recommend. You can search the forums here for what other people have used, just know that our battery is a little bit bigger than the Prius' battery I think. Don't pay anyone more than a 6 pack to install it, it takes 5 mins and a socket wrench. It's in the trunk on the right side behind the plastic door.
