The only thing they’ll have to know about the I-Pace is that it’s a battery electric vehicle (BEV), and the first premium, long-range, practical, pure-electric vehicle from an old-school car maker, if that doesn’t sound overly specific. What I mean is that it joins the Tesla Model series and a host of plug-in hybrids as the long-range, poshbadge electric choice and has felt like a long time coming. It’s curious how the established industry chose to launch EVs with semi-affordable prices and short ranges first, as if aimed at those with the least money and the least ability to charge at home. Anyway, now, here we are: a £60k-plus EV with a 300-mile range or thereabouts and 394bhp, from a company with more experience than Tesla at making cars in large volumes. . . . Understand I'm a fan of plug-in hybrids so this car has little appeal. Still I get the impression the UK takes a lot of pride in this car that is not a Tesla. Just in time for BEXIT. as a X owner - & my grandfather having a Jag .... it may be neck & neck reliability (I'm at the service center as i text) But at least 1 of them will get you across the nation in a much quicker time. I think Jag is owned by Tata Motors. Yeah, it sounds much better to call it an I-Pace than a Tata I-pace. .

That's true. I'm probably just more critical becaus ... like I mentioned, I'm here waiting to get a loner, so I can get on with life. (sigh) Drivers self presenting driver"s door not opening intermittently. My poor wife actually has to touch a button you get inside sometimes. Ooohhhh the humanity.
That is why the 3 is a good offer. Tesla does a great job in keeping most in working conditions. They proactively go and replace their plugs after certain number of charge sessions.
meh. At $70,000-$90,000 the I-Pace makes a Tesla look almost affordable..... ......but almost affordable is still not affordable. Still, Elon has promised to greatly surpass his as-yet-unreached goal of 5k units per month, and one imagines that they might start punching out the $35 kilobuck flavor of the 3 about the same time as the tax kickbacks start to sunset or are supplanted by volume, and $35K seems to be what most Americans call an 'affordable' car. The road is loooong, winding, and littered with the bones of folks who said that Elon "can't do that." I'm starting to think he might actually pull it off. Then? It will be all about long-term reliability....
That's $80K USD plus. AND......if the Lucas company had any hand in the electronics, the reliability might not be that good. They have a lot of experience with fixing electrical problems too.
