So MIL had code P3000 & P3006, DOC over 20% (36%) serviced (cleaned) and replaced Bus Bar ( could have cleaned it but why bother at $114 ) Code popped up again but not DOC at 20% Prior to service CEL cleared on its own and ran great So I am thinking it may be the HV ecu just work out or faulty sensors and or solders due to high mileage? Anyone else experiencing this? Tia Jim
Not enough info for a diagnosis. I presume you don't have a techstream, to get to the information subcodes. See, for example, this thread: 2003 Prius P3000 code | PriusChat or this: 2003 Gen 1 with P3000, Battery control system malfunction | PriusChat Prii of this vintage are also vulnerable to corrosion of the sense wire connector to the battery ECU. See: The battery fires at ECU sense connector thread | PriusChat May you have good fortune with your project.
Hey Thanks for your Post My bad sub code is 123, I have a techstream The thing is I installed a new from dealer bus bar ergo the better DOC It is just odd that with a DOC 20% it still trips the Triangle of Death One thing to note is when I did place the new bar on after cleaning all the terminals I accidentally arced the battery bank 1 and may have compromised a sensor on the back side, I cleaned the spot weld on the bar but I suspect it may have been damaged. I will find out with the new one once I receive it. Good call on connection to the HV ecu,I will check the connection for corrosion prior to install. I am leaning towards bad ecu if new bus bar fails Jim
much depends on the age and driving/thermal history of the battery pack. DOC? do you mean SOC (State of Charge)? Here is some more reading: Gen 1 Prius Battery Failure, P3006 - Luscious Garage | Hybrid Specialists and this (old, but informative) Gen1 Codes P3000 sub code 123 | PriusChat DTC P3000 INF 123 says "battery system", fuse, battery cooling system, power cable. I'd look to see if the battery cooling fan is properly operational; the rest is inspections. If you have the battery pack out, measure and record ALL the battery voltages with a DMM. If the highest-to-lowest differential is too big, that may set a code. But I think it's a different subcode. If the fan is okay, running... It may be time to consider a whole new battery pack. Your time is worth money, too. Best of luck...
Yeah I have to admit I did it quickly I will check all the connection this thing me around Actually I can remove and reinstall on 2 hours The cleaning takes forever
