I had to ask if I could see a Prime at the dealer. They searched, and found four (yes, FOUR) in Canada. All in Quebec. If I can't see one I'm not buying one! Maybe they're worried about the battery and don't WANT to sell them!
same here in the non carb states, they are just starting to filter in. yuo'd be amazed at how many people bought sight unseen.
Me, for one. As a prior Prius owner I expected more of the same but improved, and that is exactly what I received.
Must’ve been sold out. I’ve seen one review out of Victoria, BC. Also, Quebec has a similar emissions credit system as California so they’ll want to sell more in Quebec.
Funny, I didn't buy a Prime but bought two Prii and never test drove either one. The second one the dealer asked me if I wanted to test drive it and I said no. My wife liked the color, what could go wrong.
Our nearby west coast dealership did have four in stock, a month or two back. None now, but 6 regular fourth gen Prius. Actually saw a Prime on the road, a few days back. They're not totally a mirage, here's one I saw on the lot when I was in for the AC on our 2010:
They have them in Maryland but the dealerships have no clue how to sell them. They are not charged, and they are clueless about the technology (when I was negotiating the price, the finance guy tried to move me into a Corolla).
Yes. The Prime is a Prius. There is differences in styling, plus the rear seat and cargo space, but it is a Prius at its core. A person can get in a Prius, test drive it, and have a good feel on whether a Prime is acceptable for daily driving for them from that.
Me too. I had already had 2 Prius before so I knew already what to expect. After I ordered I was able to rent one at a car rental place.
There are a lot of Prius Primes in Ontario, but they are either upgraded or the upgraded technology package. I can't find any base models in this province. What they are doing for the Honda Clarity in Ontario is you can order one, put some money down, and when it comes, you can test drive it. If you don't like it, they keep it, but if you like it, you can take it home. Maybe you can ask your dealership if they can do the same.
Saw 6 on the road in Quebec. (mostly greys and whites) Back home, I've already seen 6 (blue, grey, 2 red, 2 titanium)
$4500.00 tax credit on the Prime makes it less expensive than the standard Prius. After the tax credit, my Prius prime advanced will be about $25,600.
Hey MSAGRO - you have a nice Prius and all, but I think you've posted a picture of it about 25+ times. We get it!!
