Here we consider aviation news on individual bases. This is an experiment to see if an assimilating thread has wings here. Kicking off, a pilot with ~20 hours after solo lost engine power and landed on a busy street in Huntington Beach Calif. Find&click to see video from several angles. Darn nice landing. Coverage highlights combination of luck and skill. I concede luck for missing power lines (really can't see those things). For car drivers (who basically have no idea) ducking out of the way. All else was skill under pressure. If this young pilot aspires to a commercial career, seems likely that some company would a$$i$t.
As a former flight instructor I'm really surprised to learn it was a student pilot. He sure did keep his cool, a big asset to being a good pilot. Be interested to learn why the engine quit.
