Well another successful meet up in the books:).

    Thanks to @grid , @RMB and @tallassazn for attending ;).

This was an all Gen3 meetup:).

Oil changes were done on 3 of the 4 cars (would have done RMB’s if he didn’t buy prepaid maintenance ).

Trans axle fluid drain and fill were done on 2 of the 4.

Engine and inverter drain and fills were done on @tallassazn ’s 2010 :).

We inspected and cleaned @grid ‘s egr pipe. Guess what will be scheduled in the future:whistle:.

    Good to see everyone:).

Have a great rest of your Memorial Day weekend (y).

:ROFLMAO:4 years and 2 + months ago I didn't do any research regarding necessary maintenance items (or the lack of) so I purchased the prepaid maintenance for the dealer to check my floormat every 5000 miles:confused:. Didn't know anything about PriusChat let alone install meet ups. Oh well, oil change not needed today as 60k prepaid floormat checkup at the dealership next Friday:ROFLMAO:, of which will come with an free oil change LOL.

Good to see you guys today to enjoy and learn from each other, and talk about the care and love of our cars.(y)

Well I hope one day I come meet you guys. It's tough with a little one around. But as one mentioned...I can save money taking my car to the stealership and the savings can be passed for my wife's handbags. She has a habit of buying all these Louie Vuitton yet she won't allow me to upgrade rims for my car. LOL

You can tell her that the next purse is in you if you let me come to the next meetup;).

You got any space to work down in the South Bay ?

Pick a date and we’ll see if we can make it work out(y).

I'm at Fremont Toyota, checked in for my 60k service:unsure:. The service advisor right off the bat recommended brake fluid, transmission fluid, throttle body fuel injection system cleaning. :DOf course I decline them all, then right away I asked about during the brake inspection will there be lubrications of the brake components like pins and shims, he said those are not included and will be $89.95:cautious:. I declined that also.

Knowing ahead of time what's needed and what is at the moment Not Important, I asked for what I want (lubes pins and shims), and kindly declined what I don't feel like performing (brake and tranny fluid). I don't know what percentage of other folks do go for those dealer add-on items blindly, although I do waste some of my time and money with 5k OCI which isn't necessary at all:p. Sooner or later I will get these items done, cleaning intake manifold/egr circuit, flush brake fluid/lube brake pins, battery fan, etc, but feel like I can wait a bit more on those, and definitely not getting them done at the dealership LOL.

Really big thanks to the PriusChat community, especially @Raytheeagle for organizing and even hosting Bay Area meet ups, @NutzAboutBolts for all the toturial videos @Mendel Leisk for mentioning about how important it is to check driver side floormats:ROFLMAO:

Here's an image of the RO in regards to the floormat, like every time, it has its own separate line of item to show its importance LOL! image.jpg

Keep that $90 figure ready for the next meet up and we can take care of that in about a half hour:).

You’ll probably need it as your cost savings reasoning with the boss:love:.

Thanks again for helping me with that.

The Canary in the mine was pulled out right in the nick of time. Saving this for late this year or early next when the weather gets cold because RMB was in jean pant and lucky he didn't pass out due to heat exhaustion during ATF change :ROFLMAO: Also the gives me time to thoroughly study the removal, cleaning, reassemble of manifold and all egr stuff + oil catch can + establishing the funding for the project.

I'd like to meet up at the next one too.

I have some work to do! :D

Has anyone done a 120k service on their Prius? The local shop I use offers a 120k service; I don't know much about this 120k service.

I’ll be driving back from Paso Robles Sunday with no wife and kids, so Sunday is a bit free:whistle:.

I could take some tools and head back along the 101 if you can find a place to work;).

    Let me know (y).

Ray, would you recommend having a 120K service done at a shop or diy?

    Thanks

Not sure what is in the Gen2 manual, but it is usually spark plugs and an oil change.

I’d pare it with the PCV valve based on the location and work required ;).

We’d make short work of it(y).
