I originally looked at a 2016 Prius Two Eco and fell in love with the moonstone interior. I decided to buy a new 2018 Prius One with Moonstone interior but the seat colors seem to be simply grey and black where the seat colors in the 2016 Two Eco seemed to be grey, white and black, a much brighter look. Various dealers have insisted that Moonstone is the same color as Ash. The seats on the 2018 Two Eco look the same as on the One. They explain that the code for Moonstone and Ash is the same: FA10 If Moonstone is the same color as Ash, then why bother calling the same color two different names? Any thoughts?!
Toyota dealers in Florida and four other states buy their new vehicles from Southeast Toyota Distributors, an independent company. I believe “Ash” is their name for the color, presumably chosen because they thought it would have greater market appeal. I agree that it’s just confusing. Toyota itself does something similar, though. The color called “Moonstone” in the U.S. sales brochures is called “Cool Gray” in the parts catalog and service manuals, translated from クールグレー (kūrugurē) in Japanese. Speaking of Japanese colors, I’m still disappointed that Toyota hasn’t brought サーモテクトライムグリーン (Thermo-Tect Lime Green, 6W7) to the U.S. market.
Well, I'm just a first time Prius owner for the past 19 months, but @Elektroingenieur has vast knowledge. He can speak for himself, but I've learned a great deal from him and others posting on here. This is a truly great forum in my opinion.
Well, I saw the Silver Prius One with Ash interior and the seats look like grey with black accents. Am I imagining that the 2016 Prius Two Eco I saw a couple of weeks ago had seats that were white, grey and black?
Were the seats cloth or Softex? Moonstone is distinct but it's only available in Softex. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
