    Honda's New 186-Mile Electric Fit Will Be Priced Below $20,000

    Now, I just wonder if they'll sell them nationwide in the US, or if they'll still only sell them in California/CARB states.

    I do love that it's now comparable in price to entry level sedans. Even though the range isn't the greatest, and I'm assuming that 186 EV miles isn't on the EPA test cycle, at such a fairly low price relative to other EV's, it should get a lot of attention, and potentially sales, if Honda doesn't hamstring availability.

    i think it would be quite popular, but also wonder if it is compliance. i wonder if honda will have any tax credits left by then.

    Recall that Ghosn (Nissan) said the key to market penetration is lower entry price. I assume that means they'll continue to work on the LEAF to bring down the cost. The Fit might beat them too it (but of course the Fit is a subcompact while the LEAF is a compact). Nevertheless, it's a good car for city dwellers and the EV part will help those who have charging stations in their townhouses or condos.

    Last time Honda introduced Fit EV to US, it never become available in my area. If I did not buy Prime, I would be very interested in this new Fit EV.

    If I was in the market, I'd be very interested in the Fit. I love the cargo and head room inside and of course, the magic seats.

    Might work out for warm weather areas of the country where it wouldn't lose half it's range during winter.

    The first Fit EV used air cooling for the battery, but the Clarity Electric uses liquid.

    I too was interested in the last EV Fit, which dealers in my neighboring state said they couldn't sell to me in PA. So I decided to buy a Prius instead. My round trip for work is 33 miles, which would work well. However, I'm less interested now that I have my Prius -- assuming of course they would allow me to get one this time. :rolleyes:

    Honda was only leasing the previous Fit EV. They were offering it for compliance reasons, but also for "in the wild" testing.
