hi everyone has anyone had this problem i can't find a similar problem on the internet.when the Prius is on a complete stop with the brake pedal pressed i can see on the energy monitor display energy flowing to the electric motor and i can hear the electric motor working i check the brake pedal switch and brake pedal position sensor and they look like they are ok .i really appreciate any help
I think there is nothing wrong. When stationary with the brake pressed, there is power applied to the MG1. You can notice this because there is a slight movement when you go from P to D and when you release the brake pedal the car immediately wants to creep forward.
I see that if I'm not pressing down enough on the brakes. Car is still so it's enough brake pressure just not enough to stop the current. Would think there's some adjustment or setting. I have a gen 2. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
hi thanks for the reply it's not normal to see energy flow to the motor when the car is in a complete stop and the brake pedal is pressed.i will record a video tomorrow to show the problem and will be getting a new brake switch to try it
if the switch was not working, you wouldn't be able to make the car ready. do the brake lights operate?
That does not look normal at all. And as @bisco said, if the brake switch failed to work you couldn't make the car READY.
Your ABS and Slip Indicator lights are illuminated, which are issues that could relate to your problem. The Slip Indicator could just be because you mashed the brake pedal down when you stopped, but the ABS light indicates another problem. Get them checked out. Also, get that windshield replaced!
Thanks for all the info I just got this nice car las t week and like RRxing said it was a ABS problem.it was the right front wheel speed sensor wire it was completely cut I solder the wires together and cleared the ABS codes and now I got rid of all the warning lights and my anergy flow is now normal.thanks for all the support
Also, your Brake light is on, which should only display if the parking brake is on. Was your parking brake on when you filmed the video? If not, it's another clue that something ain't right. And get that windshield fixed...
I’m having this same issue with my 2016 but it only has energy flowing while I’m stopped on a hill. Not sure why it’s doing it as it’s not normal and no fault codes were found.
