Got the car in April. It's fantastic. However, I noticed that there is this faint printing in the passenger seat. It looks like a memory of a Toyota build sheet - you can see "AA70" and some other stuff spelled out. Any ideas? Are they going to give me trouble about fixing it?

That sure does look like a manufacturing flaw.
I too think they shouldn't have an issue replacing.

They may try cleaning first, which I'd let them try.
    Good luck.

Hope you get this fixed. That is not acceptable and dealer should erase it completely or get you a new seat.

Are you sure that's not the serial number issued to you by the UFO abduction?

Spray it with a light cleaner and "buff" with a terry cloth in a circular motion. Make a ball with the cloth and grab it with your fist - don't be afraid to apply some pressure. See if the agitation gets it out. Might save you some time versus a dealership appointment.

Something like a big number, an obvious manufacturing defect, I wouldn't touch it, just show it to the dealership. There's no telling where the dye for this is, maybe embedded in the material. I think they owe him a new cover. OTOH, the dealership might be able to clean it, but start with them, be on record.

Thanks all. As you expected, the dealer is ordering a new seat cover. They were very nice about it.

I had been worried they would be unexcited about fixing a cosmetic issue, but on the contrary they were very specific that the seat cover had an issue and needed to be changed.

Pretty impressed with Toyota so far.
