Despite my personal brand preference, based on styling alone, I'd pick Toyota/Lexus over Honda. I just like the looks better. But that's me. YMMV.

Someone posted elsewhere this new Holden (GM made in Korea I suspect) commenting about the number of un-balanced body contours:
    upload_2018-2-26_11-21-5.png

This is one of the most WRONG looks:
    upload_2018-2-26_11-22-40.png

And I reckon this is the most UGLY:
    upload_2018-2-26_11-23-56.png

This car actually looks good in contrast to the others:

But it is unlikely you will see the last one because Toyota is convinced plug-ins will not sell in Australia.

True - though I think that will change, but probably with the next PRIME iteration. I just picked that picture because it was even MORE Hybriddy [is that a word?] than PRIUS.

To me, the Holden looks like it was designed after it had an accident. The second picture has a grille that looks like the orthodontist from hell's braces. The third picture is an epic grill failure consisting of ego-boost logo/boss's mid-life crisis.

Italians, Italians, that's what the damned Japanese, etc. car-design industry needs SO desperately. Make the Alfa Romeo/Ferrari/Lamborghini by Toyota with full plug-in hybridization!!
    Yeah!! Now you are talking!!

I'm amazed at the amount of (usually) good natured ribbing my son gets from his buddies when they find out he drives a Prius. However, many of them are having gasoline pricing sticker shock lately and bother him far less when he tells them he gets in 45+ MPG! :D I'm also proud to say he is taking a liking to seeing how high he can get his MPGs. Our daughter on the other hand....I can tell every time she drives it because average MPH drops like a rock.

Maybe you can re-phrase the classic European quip:

Heaven is where the police are British, the cooks are French, the
mechanics German, the lovers Italian and it's all organized by the
    Swiss.

Hell is where the chefs are British, the mechanics French, the
lovers Swiss, the police German and it's all organized by the Italians.

Hey now, I did specify the proper Italians!!
And besides, everybody screws up, the Italians just have that design FLAIR that most times hits the mark!

If the Germans could wrap a 1960-era VW Beetle in a stylish Italian body, why not the Japanese?

I happen to think that the 2012-2015 Gen 3 (with the "hockey stick" rear lights) had a classic design that has aged really well and looks good. Form met function, in my opinion.

I also thought that the Honda CR-Z and second gen Honda Insight were good looking cars.

I'm not a fan of the standard Gen 4 back end - the tail lights, to me, make the car look awkwardly wide and low in the back when it really is not.

However, I think that the Prime looks really good - like a Hot Wheels toy car - especially in red, white (blizzard, I know), or blue. (cue HPrimeAdvanced telling us that those are the colors in the French flag ;):coffee::cool:

Not from the front! Last week I saw that ugly Prime front coming a mile away! The possible 2019 Prius looks better with the Prime headlights but nor the black grille. They also wrap the tail lights under the lower rear window.
