I'm more jealous of your $2000 plus $1500 plus $500 electric provider plus large inventory. In Texas, we don't have any rebates, there's 19 Primes within 100 miles but most are 2018. That's why I had travel far to get a good deal. At least it only costs me about 40 cents (6.2 cents per kWh) to charge my Prime. I feel bad for those in my state that had to pay full price without a rebate. At least there is a $2500 taxable rebate that's coming out this Summer.

You can check on costs to ship the Prius to Texas. Also if you know any others in the area that might want to buy a Prime you could come up with a group price and share the delivery charge.

Yes. I had southwest points so I used up 24,000 points since it was last minute and they only had one Premium left. I had points and stayed at a hotel too. It only cost about $63 in gas to drive 1730 miles including the full dealer tank. Definitely worth the trip if you have 3 days or longer if you want to make it a road trip. I think these were the rebates when I bought my car: $5000 CT NY NJ $4500 MA ME RI $3000 MD. They may or may not be right.

If I were you, I would arrange a family vacation to NJ/NY with the money you saved with car purchase there :)

After more analysis (more needed due to my complex trade in*), here's the deal I received from Jim Coleman Toyota, Bethesda, Maryland:
    MSRP $34,243
    Dealer Discount -$3,000
    Toyota Rebate -$3,000
    Processing Fee $300
Tax, Title, Tag $80 (no taxes in NC when trade in is worth more than the car you are buying)
    Total OTD: $28,623
Next year, the $4500 federal tax credit, not included above, will come in handy!
*complex trade in means I lost a _____load of money, LOL!

Wow your deal looks pretty good, is yours the middle Premium model? Is the 2500 rebate on top of the $4500 federal incentive? I'm also in TX considering a new prime to replace my wife's 2010 Prius 4.

Yes. I got the Premium, it's worth it over the Plus. I didn't think the Advanced is worth $4000 more than the Premium. Yes, the $2500 is in addition to the $4502 federal. But it's taxable like an earned interest account so it's less than $2000 after paying tax on it. It's still not a good deal in TX without the Toyota regional rebate that's up to $5000 in the NE.

Any deals in Socal for Advanced model 2017?

Getting around 32k Out the door for a 2017 Advanced. Should I be able to get lower since it's basically mid year of 2018

Should I worry that the car has been sitting on the lot for too long causing the battery to not hold a charge as well?

No worries about the battery sitting too long.
Just in case, the hybrid system has a huge warranty! It's 8 years/100,000 miles--even longer in California.

Isn't also 8 years 100k years for California? Or is it 9 years / 100k?

On my dealership's website, it states this.
    • Hybrid electrical components warranty: 96 months/100,000miles
    • Basic warranty: 36 months/36,000miles

Not too many 2017s left in Southern California and I'm getting not so great price offers on these (premium model). They are all quoting ~$28.5k out the door if you take the 2k off.
