I kinda like the red or gray. I don't mind cars in Yellow, but kinda looked strange in the bright yellow.
One thing I don't like is the small led tail lights, it's such a large unit with a very narrow light in this big cluster.
The gray looks very plain IMO. There is a guy who works next door to where I work that got a gray one and we leave around the same time. Got to check it out at the stop light before the freeway. The blue is a lot better .
The yellow one is a wrap. Here's the skinny on where the owner had the wrap done; Yellow Tesla Model 3 that rocked 'reddit' now with tinted windows and carbon fiber dash .
Yes, on first impressions, the front end is controversial. However the look will grow on you as it has on most people. It is kind of Porsche like front end. My SIL hated the front end when he saw it two years ago. Now he thinks it is beautiful and he has one on order - black on black! The model 3 is fast and begs to be driven fast (0-60 in 4.8 seconds, 1/4 mile in 13 seconds at 104 mph), for better or worse! I have seen pictures of the yellow, also a bright pink one. These are wraps. Factory colors are black, red, pearl white, silver, dark gray, and dark blue. Fair enough, in my opinion the back end is less interesting than the front end. I will say that I like the model 3 tail lights better than the ones on my 2012 Prius (which are vertical and make the rear end look puckered), but that is all personal taste. Yeah, the Midnight Silver is my least favorite color, BUT it has been the second most popular color for orders. Yes, Multi-coat Silver and Midnight Grey. The dark blue has been the most popular color for orders at this point. I will not be ordering blue.
The front has been modified since the reveal in 2016, right? I thought I saw a more aggressive top of the front bumper like Daffy Duck. It’s more subtle now ( or I’ve grown into it). I’ve only seen one in real life and it was just parked on the street as I went by. Red one. The rear is actual my favourite part
Yea, I think that it's just a getting used to it thing. I'm just now barely getting to the point where i no longer have to turn away from the large simulated jet fighter intake ports on the Prime. There may be hope for me yet. .
Is the Model 3 as fast as a Model S? It appeared my Infiniti G37 is just as fast as a Model S off the line and has a higher top end then the same year Model S. It certainly sounds better. Infiniti would accelerate 0-60 mph in 5.3 sec, 0-100 km/h in 5.6 sec, 0-200 km/h in 21 sec and quarter mile time is 13.6 sec. 2012 Tesla Model S Base (225 kW) 0-60 mph 5.9 | Quarter mile 14.2
The fastest Infinity G37 time I could find 0-60 was 4.9 seconds The slowest Model S is slower than that. Any Tesla of any year will beat it 0-20 (off the line). Sound is a personal, subjective thing. I would argue a Leaf sound better than a woopie-cushion-mobile.
update: as of around late Spring 2017 & beyond, Tesla stopped offering single motor Model S's. The dual motor Model S, once it's uncorked (standard on new S's in 2018), will do 4.2 seconds 0-60mph. Even our uncorked X (if not set to run in 'chill' mode) will do 0-60mph in 4.8 sec's. But yea, the older - 70kWh & 60kWh S's can't be software updated to run higher acceleration. Personally, I wish they would worry more about getting the summon feature to be more reliable. if loud noise is so cool - try sleeping - living in homes next to the John Wayne or LAX take off paths .... or a home with bikers next door. The older one gets, the more one appreciates the power of quiet. ICE noise is like smoking - enjoyable, but destructive. .
Early this week I was joking about a Tesla RV! Guess I should not joke! A Tesla electric motorhome design based on Tesla Semi: love it or hate it? | Electrek
Ah yes it does - soon ..... that turbine will be called the model 'J' Ah yes ...... you're talking model 'M' ... .
Read the article. It's just an artist rendering. Shouldn't even be an article but Electrek likes the clicks.
