    Some additional questions:
    • Where are you located?
    • Have you gotten a second opinion on any of the work?
    • Did they give you a print out of the codes or reason the inverter is bad?
    Keep us posted (y).

The timing was off and according to the dealership its was by three points or teeth marks on the sprocket. Yeah the chain inside.

It feels like they are “shot-gunning” parts at this:(.

Before I would do anything else to your Prius, I’d ask for the codes and issues they have found in writing so you can verify and look into what they found, or post them here for assistance;).

What dealership are you using (Toyota Town in Stockton, Tracy Toyota, etc)?

Do you have (or know someone who has) Techstream?

I know @gta_ has it and is in the 209:).

If you can update us on the above, maybe us locals could assist ;).

    Keep us posted (y).

Im waiting for a manager to give me a call today. I can ask for a printout and see what they say. Unfortunate I don't know anyone with Techstream. The car is at toyota town. Yeah i would appreciate some help locally.

This really doesn't make any sense to me that the inverter would be a problem after they have replaced the fuse, fixed the timing, and replaced the air fuel sensor. Before all this i was told that their were no error codes and the car is running fine since the hybrid mechanic drove it around with a tester plugged in to make sure nothing would come up miles ahead of what is being driven.

Yeah the codes will definitely help understand what the causes are:).

While they won’t tell you when they logged, it will give you an idea of what is currently there;).

Once you get those, post them up and we can help troubleshoot the next steps:).

I’m getting my Techstream laptop back from @SFO today, but I’ve got family plans this weekend, so I might be only able to help woth the codes:(.

If you talk very nice to @gta_ maybe he could assist:whistle:.

Lol. More like order me around :ROFLMAO:

I have very little experience using it, other than the one test I did to make sure I could make it worked when I got it haha. But I'm sure I could help get the codes pulled, though I am not comfortable in doing it at a dealership so it would need to be if you can get the car home/somewhere else lol. I too have a busy weekend, but we can try and figure something out if you'll have the car at home or something.

Though it's pretty strange they can't tell you the codes that it was pulling... so hopefully the manager can get you what you need when you talk to him.

Yeah getting it out of toyota town would be best for multiple reasons;).

If the OP can get us an update, we can maybe help woth the next steps :).

    Thanks for pitching in(y).

    Ok update

Picked car up from initial dealership was told it was a bad inverter. I refused to do the job because they claimed it was my fault of it failing which was not the case. I didn't believe them and wanted to get a second opinion from another shop. The second diagnosis i got from the new shop determined it was the AC compressor causing the issue. Some kind of low voltage or ohm so it was causing the hybrid system to detect it in turn causing an error. I ended up bring the car home and replaced the ac compressor and tried to run diagnosis through my port but for some reason my old fuse was in the wrong slot. Not sure which shop did this but thanks for nothing. All in all the car is now up and running with no issue so far. I have driven the car for about 100 miles with no hiccups.

Sounds like dealer #1 needs some education.

When you replaced the engine did you mess with the timing chain or did you install the new engine as you got it?
