I think you are right, I finally got something to work on mine, on intersections it tells me where I’m at. then nothing, until the next intersection. I’m making real progress. I’m thinking of going to AAA and see if they still have maps.
Multitasking is for machines. It's a fallacy to believe humans can do multiple things well simultaneously. We can do multiple things simultaneously, but not all of them will be done well. @Prodigyplace, that is a Schrödinger's cat type question, and I haven't had enough physics to answer that.
I agree - while it seemed expedient to do 3 things at once and be thinking about 3 others ... it was far more efficient to do just one thing.
If we couldn't multitask we'd be dead, at the moment I'm doing 5 things at once . Breathing, seeing, hearing, eating and typing (although the last one wouldn't necessarily contribute to my death).
Touch typing is a sort-of autonomous multi-tasking. I self-taught myself TT (with the help of a software program set up like a video game with levels), over a decade back. If my life depended on it I couldn't tell you which keys are which, but I can merrily type away: somwhere in my head is that info.
Autonomous functions shouldn't count as multitasking in this case. "Multitasking" is what employers like to believe people can do so more work can be piled onto fewer people so they can make the bottom line look good to shareholders.
Boy this thread has gone sideways! I will always buy Toyota, the little issue you are experiencing are minor, compared to some other makes.
Poor design, perhaps, but ... I'm not here blaming them, rather simply stating that not *every* vehicle produced by this company is a perfect, flawless gem (evidenced by the OP and my 2005 RX). I'm still happily purchasing Toyota/Lexus products (we've had 4 different ones in the last 6 months, 5 if you go back a year). Oh and, my insurance deductible was $1,000 (still is today), so a claim did not make sense as the bill was about the same. Again, not blaming anything or anyone.
Was your car in an accident? It might have been and then been fixed. a rock pierced the A/C condenser while driving on the highway, knocking out the A/C system. Warranty wouldn't cover it You expected warranty to cover it? wow!
