I just visited the Walker Toyota (Dayton) website to schedule service for my car and noticed that they have 7 (seven!) Prius Primes in stock. Wow! Last time I was at Walker they told me they were special ordering these cars to sell on spec. With seven in stock, however, I am wondering if this region is now receiving regular shipments, or if this is still all special ordering? Anybody else seen dealerships Ohio stocking Primes? In what numbers?
They are all 18's. This would seem normal since they wouldn't have had any 17's in stock, just those they had special ordered for customers.
Dealers in Oklahoma City also now have Primes in the showrooms and on the lots. I saw this last week getting my free 10K oil change. Perhaps pigs do fly.
I do know the dealers in the Lexington Kentucky area have told me they are moving well. They would not budge much off the sticker. They were not allotted any 2107 models but are receiving 2018 models.
I checked the 5 nearest dealers around me. None of them had a single Prius Prime. I broadened my searchand finally found some 2018 models but the dealers were not willing to deal on them. That’s when I turned my search toward the north where they are dealing and have a great rebate on the 2017 Primes.
To date I have only seen one Prime on the road somewhere between here and Florida. Checked another local dealer and they had no Prime in stock.
