    What I like about brake Kleen is that if you suspect a plugged channel, you can direct a concentrated spray into that opening;).

    But I use both(y).

    It’s soaking on Oxiclean now! Looking good. Lots of bubbling.

    Also - should I replace this ignition coil due to the cracked boot? Is it fine?

    I see coils for $70.60 (US) online, plus shipping. I'd be inclined to just put it back in.

    Yeah, they’re pricey for sure. But I would hate to have to take the wiper assembly off again... what a pain.

    It gets easier...

    Maybe put the coils in as-is and test drive without the cowl and wipers, see how it behaves. I think that's doable? (n)

    Trailer park, but you could wrap some electrical tape around it. Or a large diameter shrink tube?

    Is that how the boot came out, or did you damage it:whistle:?

    If that is “as found”, I’d throw it back in:).

    The windshield wiper cowling is a 1/2 hour job, so it all depends what your time is worth;).

    Shrink wrap or electrical tape and use it. Mostly cosmetic.

    Do I have to answer that question? :whistle: ................

    EGR is back in and hooked up! Took four rounds of Oxi. Kept getting brown water and more particles coming out. I alternated plugging each end and then soaking. A also learned giving it some good bangs in the sink really loosens up a lot!! I cleaned it until nothing but clear water would come out both ends no matter how hard I tried.

    Onto manifold cleaning!

    Just checked the throttle body, and oh my..... there is a ton of oil under there.

    Good to hear things are progressing well;).

    There’s always a nice size spooge pool under the throttle body :(.

    But you know how to deal with that(y).

    It was a good day. PCV valve installed. Manifold clean and ready for reinstall....but first the OCC! :)

    .... still not sure where to place it. Need more votes! I want easy access.(y)

    Thanks for the motivation! I’ll be following in your footsteps shortly. I just have one question did you replace gaskets while doing the cleaning process or reuse the original ones?

    Good question. I’m replacing the intake manifold gasket, but reusing the smaller EGR pipe gasket. The gasket looked ok when I removed it, but figured it’s best to just replace it while I’m there.(y)

    I reused all gaskets, but we're pretty low mileage. They did look fine.

    First round at about 120 k miles I replaced all gaskets;).

    Round 2 at 175 k miles I reused:whistle:.

    All gaskets are $35 online, so not expensive :).

    But reusing seemed low risk too(y).

    Going to pick up some brass barbs at the hardware store now.

    I'm a little worried about mounting it under the air intake because in the very cold winters we have here, plastic is very prone to snapping easily. Also, I'll be less motivated to go out in the cold to check it (when it probably needs to be drained the most)...

    I've been hemming and hawing for the past two hours. I could've had it installed by now! I just need to decide. I'm leaning towards just putting up top because it's easier to check and that's the setup @danlatu is running right now and he's the man.(y)

    I'm sure mounting lower is probably slightly better in the long run, but I'm thinking it's probably fine for now, at least.
