And for my next question....This one has been bugging me and I kept meaning to post but always forgot to. My 2006 Four would unlock all the doors whenever I used keyless entry on the driver's side door. My 2013 Persona only unlocks the driver's door. This really bugs me - is there a way to reprogram the car to unlock all doors when I reach for the driver's side handle? Seems simple enough. Thanks!
I'm not sure about your particular vehicle. I have an 08 Toyota Highlander that was able to be switched (by the dealer). So they were able to program all doors to open upon keyless touch. My 2017 prius prime I was able to set that up within the settings on my computer /navigation system. Check your manual - and /or call your service advisor at your local dealership. Hope this helps!
As annoying as it is, you do know that the Keyless open button has to be pushed twice to open all locks at the same time?
You can select that option by standing next to the car and holding the lock and panic button in your keyfob (i think it's these 2 buttons) at same time for a few seconds until it beeps once. That changes the lock settings to drivers door only. (I know this is in your owner's manual, holding 2 buttons at the same time on the keyfob) If those 2 buttons don't work, try holding lock and unlock buttons. Change it back to unlocking all doors by doing the same process
On my 2012 that can be changed on the display but hitting settings and then either general or car - it’s one of the options listed. I changed that also for the same reason when I got mine
I could have sworn I used the Carrista app to change mine and also stop the constant beeping in reverse.
Can confirm this works as I just did it, pressing down on Lock and Panic and then holding for about 4-5 seconds until the car beeps. Now all my doors unlock when I grab the door handle and have the FOB in my pocket. Thanks, JC!
This is great! I love this forum. Going to try this tomorrow morning in my wife’s car. This has always annoyed us. Thanks guys!!
Wish I would have found this before I bought the carista OBD tool! Only good thing I got out of that was turning the big girl backup beeps and the doors..
If you hold both buttons down and look directly at the MDF, you will see an image of a prius with all door opens. If you repeat that procedure, only the driver side door has its door open on the display. Said so in the manual also.
You should be able to go to vehicle customization (Or something along those lines) and go to door lock settings and be able to change it to unlock all doors.
