From 2010 to 2015 the average is about 46 Toyota Prius MPG - Actual MPG from 7,007 Toyota Prius owners The average from 2012 to 2017 is about 49. I skipped 10 and 18 since there's only 3 cars here Toyota Prius C MPG - Actual MPG from 1,245 Toyota Prius C owners Prius EPA is 50 combined and Prius c is 46 combined. Thoughts?
they downgraded the prius C's epa combined for the current model year. it used to be higher for the 2012-2015s
I see, it used to be 53/46 for a combined 50 mpg. That's due to the new testing method right? So they both have 50 epa mpg, but fuelly puts the c at a little higher
I bet that if the Gen 3 was EPA rated today, it would be 42 combined. It is a very aggressive test now. I get 50mpg+ annual average so no issues with MPG here.
I think it has been retested. Compare Original and New Fuel Economy Estimates shows new 48 mpg and original 50 mpg
They didn't do a fulll test. What they did was an just an estimated conversion on the old cars. I have 2 Gen threes in my family and I can tell you the C is about 4 mpg more average annually. The C is 500-600 lbs less then the Gen 3. It also has a smaller engine with a more improved Hybrid System over the Gen 3. In the city nothing can touch it but on the HWY I think the Gen 3 over takes the C after 68MPH. There was a chart showing on clean MPG. So if you drive 68MPH or faster and NEVER any slower. Then the Gen 3 MPG will be slightly better
