Energy monitor not working. Help please

I have a 2011 and recently experienced the exact same problem after shop changed my battery.

I also posted this same problem here and no one was able to suggest a fix.

One of the things I tried was pressing the start/stop button a few times to reset the car. But that did not fix the problem.

There seems to be an electrical bug once these cars hit this age. The new thing I am also experiencing is my radio will stop working and starting intermitently. It is beginning to make me nervous since I only owned my 2011 Prius for 3 months.

I hope someone knows a fix for this problem.

 

Just came back from the dealer with same issue. The issue was that previous owner/dealer forgot to reattach the temp sensor on the 12v battery! And the reset the car and it worked like a charm. Hope this helps

FINALLY FIXED!!!!! There is no need of any reset. I just completed the procedure. It literally takes less than five minutes. You need to stick your hand behind the battery to reach the cable with the temperature sensor attached to it. As soon as you start the car, the arrows begin to show again.

2011 Same problem after unhooking positive for simple reset. I must have bumped the sensor compromising the connection. I did not disconnect it.

Arrows disappeared as leaving driveway and hit a bump then came back on after 2 miles then off again

I feel there must be some corrosion making the connection suspect.

The connector looks as it sounds” just a connection” were in this system is the sensor?

 

Check the sensor on top of the 12-volt battery (auxiliary battery, not the hybrid battery). It is attached to the battery holding bar and connected to the 2-wire connector running to the back to the inside trunk

I recently bought a Prius, and I had the same problem with my car. It turned out that the cable of the temperature sensor at the 12V battery was not connected to the sensor.
After connecting the sensor cable and starting the car, the energy monitor was showing everything as it should be.

 

I created an account just to say thank you for this info as well. The 12v battery was drained and after I charged it up the energy monitor wasn’t showing any “flow” in any direction. I was afraid I would have to take it in to the dealership and pay $5000 for a new hybrid battery because of something I messed up when taking care of the 12v battery. There was the disconnected cable, right on top! I plugged it in and everything is working perfectly now!

 

Did you remove the battery to charge it? I appreciate Toyota cautions to do this, but I believe it’s mostly liability issues that are behind that: ours is near-constantly on a smart charger while fully connected, even have a quick-connect cable wired in for the purpose.
