Yeah, but it's probably another Prius 5 cars ahead of ours.

Driving home the other day I had a similar actual experience. Over a 10 mile stretch of road there are 4 traffic signals. When I turn onto that road, I watch the first signal and adjust my speed based on when it turns red. I can approach it as it turns green every single time. Then by going 2-3 over the limit, I hit every other light as it turns green. So the other day a pick up passes me going about 60 in the 45. gets to the 1st light and waits. I was doing 47 and got there as it turned green, but had to slow down to wait for him to start up. He squeals his tires and takes off, just so I can pull up a mile down the road at the next light as that one turns green, but again I have to wait for him to start. So he punches it and 2 miles later same thing. And again another 5 miles down the road. All in all, he probably burned 2 gallons of gas to go those 10 miles and I burned maybe a quart at the most. Would have been less if I didn't have to keep slowing down for him to start up. And what did he get? Ahead of me. Woohoo!

Oh, and I didn't mention the burned rubber and brakes...

I have still not seen any evidence to dissuade me from my conclusion that the vast majority of pickup and SUV owners are not interested in the trip or the destination; only in spending as much as they can getting there.

Hey, close the poll by December or I'll have to jump to another age group . . . assuming I'm still on this side of the grass.

While not a scientifically accurate poll, I do find the demographics in this poll interesting. My take from the poll is that Toyota does not understand the plug-in market very well. There are many "features" in my Prime Advanced that are clearly designed for a much younger generation. No CD player is one example. It seems to me that Toyota marketing decided that only a generation of buyers that have all their music on a smart phone would buy a Prime, and that nobody old enough to have an extensive collection of Books on CD would want a Plug-in car. And then there's my collection of audio books on cassette tape... My '05 Prius that I just sold could play those, too.

I have 500 CDs. I'm going to a CD release party in a few weeks. I don't have an iTunes account and have bought nearly all the music I own on CD.

And all my music is both on my phone and on a USB stick in the car. There is no excuse not to open all those CDs and rip them onto your computer, even if only as a backup and for use in the car.

I don't have any such stretches -- 10 miles... wow!-- in my typical driving, but there are a few long-ish stretches -- up to 3 or 4 miles -- that I drive fairly frequently. And I see the same sort of stuff almost every time I drive those routes. Whenever I do see such stuff and catch up with the "culprit", I find myself thinking:

"I am SO glad you made it this far / got to this light just in time to have to stop!"

A couple weeks ago I was driving home from work and 5 guys on crotch-rockets passed me on a double yellow going around 130 in a 55. They did the same to other people in front of me. 7 miles later, at the end of that road, I was behind them at the light.

There were some song lyrics I remember "We have only one life to live, let's get it over with". :D

I guess it's a temperament thing. Some people get tremendous satisfaction from peeling out and rushing to the next light. I get far more satisfaction from rolling past them in those wonderful moments when you've played it exactly right and you're going 30 in the other lane when the light changes and they're at a complete stop. I can't help but love that.

If I were your age I would of had one. I am 49 right now and when I was in my 20’s we did not have anything this cool!
