That must have been incredible! I regret that I never got to see Jimi live.

ELP was a great band in concert. They were big into theatrics and special effects (as was Pink Floyd). I remember that they had some sort of turntable so that Keith could play the keyboards upside down.
I heard that the ELP/Jethro Tull tour a couple of years ago was phenomenal. If ELP does another reunion tour- I will not miss it!
I saw SRV play- incredible guitarist.

Having been to a grand total of 5 concerts in my short lifetime, the biggest (and best) was U2 last year.

Biggest for me is probably Sting -- at Wolf Mountain near Park City, Ut.
I also saw Suzanne Vega in SLC.

My favorite / most enjoyable concert though was probably Mouse On Mars opening for Stereolab. I was all excited for Stereolab, but Mouse On Mars blew me away. Very lively gig for a couple of guys fiddling with knobs on their samplers!!

The biggest (in my eyes) are all the Rancid and Social Distortion shows I've been to over the years...too many to count.

The biggest (in terms of name recognition and crowd size) was Metallica at the LA Coliseum, Summer Sanitarium 2000 tour; along with System of a Down, Korn, Powerman 5000, Kid Rock, and others.

Also saw the Beach Boys back when I was in grade school (uh, ~15 years ago??) at the Pacific Ampitheatre (Orange County Fairgounds) with my parents. John Stamos played drums.

I met Suzanne Vega about, maybe, 15 years ago. I went to see Throwing Muses and the Pixies in Providence, and she was standing next to me.
Stereolab is a great band. I got turned on to them by a friend of mine, whose son did an album cover for them.

Jimi in Hawaii is unbeatable, would have loved to have been at that one. Where is The Shell, at UH or ?

Was a big fan of the Clash. Saw Grand Funk Railroad with a riot and police fighting outside at 13 and thought they were the best...

I saw the Stereolab show at Lupo's in Provy. While I was in school at RISD. I also saw Ani DiFranco there, and while I'm not the biggest fan of her music, her performance was electric... HUGE personality.

I saw Cibo Matto at AS220, and Sean Lennon played a guitar solo about 3 inches from my face. I'm not his biggest fan either, but his dad was pretty good ;)

    My favorites so far:

    Sarah Vaugh
(at the Hollywood Bowl...the night she did remember the words to her songs. It was not long therafter that she died.)

    U2

    The Eagles
(first night of their reunion tour. I was too young to get to go to their concerts before then.)

    Tom Waits

    Lyle Lovette
    (on his then-bride's, Julia-Horseface-Roberts, birthday)

    Sergio Mendez & Brazil 66
    (at the Hollywood Bowl!)

    Patti Smith
    (not the Smyth version)

    Tom Jones
(at the Hollywood Bowl last Sunday. He's 66 years old and still had 20+ panties and 2 bras thrown on stage!)

    The B-52's
(for free at the L.A. County fair!)

    Chaka Khan
(for free at the local Sunset Junction street fair)

    Red Hot Chili Peppers
(before they were big, at my school's Halloween party)

That's pretty funny. Panties and bras were thrown onstage at the Stones concert last October. Imagine being in your 60's and having strange women throw their panties at you.

I was at one of Neil Diamonds Hot August Nights concerts. It was sometime in the early 70's.

You think they could have waited until Brendan Byrne died before the took his name off. I would agree with BRUCE!...however, saw him 1985 at Giants Stadium, Born in the USA tour. I believe 6 sold out nights in a 56,000 seat stadium.
