I just bought my second used Prius (2016). It didn't come with the map micro sd card. The dealer ordered one which is great. I realized the cover/door for the slot is missing. Where can I order one. Also I haven't installed the card yet, does it need an adapter?
I see this is your first post. Welcome to Prius Chat. A dealer should be able to help you with that cover, there are a lot of these cars in the junk yard already.
It’s a microSDHC card. I was surprised to see Toyota’s parts catalog doesn’t list the cover for the card slot, but it seems silly to have to replace the entire Navigation Receiver Assembly just to get a new cover. If the dealer doesn’t have any better suggestions, you might ask them to open a case with Toyota’s Technical Assistance System (TAS), the dealer-only support line. Perhaps the card slot cover could be established as a service part.
My MicroSD cover fell off mid winter. They're not made very well, and this might have been your issue as well. My MicroSD card is still in th place, luckily. It was a miracle that I heard the clicking sound it made when it fell out and onto the charging pad below it, or I would have never known. Looks like it was manufactured wrong as I haven't found a way to put it back on. This will be a dealer warranty task (I hope) when I bring it in a week from now.
When I purchased my 2016 I pointed out to the salesperson that the Navi wasn’t working. Apparently somebody stole the SD card. I insisted he fix the problem before I bought the car. His fix - open another Prius on the lot and remove the SD card and insert into my car. Problem solved. For me.
I just replaced my microSD card with the new update, and realized I lost the little door. Does anyone know how to find one? It doesn’t even look like it has a part number.
