In an ideal world, a "CALL" button to call back the owner of the vehicle that's taking up the spot (in case the charging is done and someone else wants to use the spot). This would just ping the owner via the app. To avoid abuse, the caller has to enter in their code or username so that ChargePoint can identify who's initiating the call (and thus track to see if members are abusing this feature). Not all EVs/PHEVs will have an app with notifications (e.g. older LEAFs or base model PiPs/Primes) so a notification that the charging station has stopped the flow of electricity (either due to power outage, damage or the car is fully charged) will let the owner know to come back and check on the car (or move to a different spot). This is more critical for BEVs owners who expect a certain SOC after a period of time and would be annoyed if the charge was interrupted part way without any notification. Solar panels to provide shade (e.g. a park bench underneath or a picnic table for families to take a break). Have charging stations near a park if possible so that ppl can let their dogs out for a stretch or kids can play while the car charges. A coffee shop for the adults to take in a beverage.
1. >32A charging: 40A charging would make sense since the ChargePoint Home gets paired to a NEMA 6-50. 2. Paired charging, similar to how Tesla allows up to 4 of their Wall Connector chargers to share a single circuit breaker. It would be awesome to share a single circuit breaker amongst multiple vehicles. I think the only other similar product on the market is the ClipperCreek Share2.
maybe a 'your car is on fire' text, if they don't respond to the 'charging done' text within so many minutes.
