I left my door ajar one day and the 12v battery completely emptied. Strange it measured down to 3V and still I could charge it back up. But on the way to recharging it, some relays clicked on and off when I tried to start when it was about half charged. No problem but now the VSC light, the yellow light with ((!)) is on , and the cruise control wont come on. I checked some relays and fuses related to the ABS (the ABS light is not on). I checked codes and there is nothing. When I do a code clear, they flash off for a second, then come back on.
Those lights could mean at least 100 things. Why does everyone assume the worst. Have the trouble codes read, after checking the 12 V battery health.
You people dont listen very well. I said I checked the ECU codes. Seems like it ought to have something to do with the steering or something. But now I have found out the battery is showing red trouble light occasionally, and I have found out it is dropping to 11V when IG-on and all lights, etc, so I will do something about that first.
Sorry it seemed as if we weren't listening. It's very common for new PC members to post something like "I have these warning lights on and there are no codes", and because the warning lights come on because of the codes, there's usually exactly one most helpful way to proceed, which is to find out what the original poster was doing to check codes, that led to thinking there weren't any. But it happens often enough we sometimes reply in shorthand, and it seems like we missed you saying "checked codes and there is nothing". On the same lines, the battery doesn't have a red trouble light ... what light are you referring to above? -Chap Edit: correcting myself ... no battery trouble light, but there are two battery-related icons that can appear on the MFD for 2007....
Well, I just remembered that there are 2 positve wires to the battery, a main one, and some kind of test wire or something. The small one was broken off from when I was taking the battery out, so when I shoved it back in, those problems seemed to have gone away! There still may be a problem with the battery, I will check some more.
That'll do it. My old Gen 1 would let you unplug that sense wire and never report any problem, but a Gen 2 will complain about it. -Chap
