I'm getting a mostly slight shudder/engine shaking when lightly letting off the gas. Sometimes more pronounced. (2010, gen 3 with 138K miles) No codes or other symptoms. New plugs and have to do the EGR. Fluids look pink and good. Any thoughts?
Did the plugs and not the egr ? Taken a peak at the intake manifold yet? Those would be the places I would start .
Correct. The plugs are new and have yet to do the EGR. No, have not looked at manifold but will when doing the above. Thanks for the thought. Had ordered an EGR valve but autozone canceled. A buddy (professional mechanic) suggested tranny fluid. So gonna drain and refill as well.
If looking for a spare egr setup, I’d look to eBay or a salvage yard . You can pick the cooler and valve up for less than $100. But maybe less if you can find another member in your geographic area that has one “lying around”. Good luck and keep us posted .
It's same Dan with an extra 3. My google account got frozen. But they tell me I am trying to hack my account on my cell but wont let me use that to get back in. Anyway SOLVED! Turns out driver side rear brake piston was not retracting. Causing premature death of brake pad It had resolved it self some how but then the brake pad (just the one) went bad. Doing a normal brake pad replacement, saw 3 pads were in good shape. Outer driver's side was down to the metal. And I mean shiny, scraped clean metal. As it was just the one, I was thinking a rock or debry had gotten under contact point as it was not the normal "time for brake job" sound(s) After piston fixed itself, MPG's went up to around 47. Was maxing out at 42ish. It was also colder. Really starting to warm up to this car. Still miss my '08, II. But this one just needed a lil TLC. Guy I'm selling it to is a pro wrench so want it good but also, I pale in comparison to his skills. As always, Thanks for the input, all!
