I just returned home from a vacation. 1. I recharged the battery. It starts. 2. The engine does not work. I press the gas pedal, no response, no sound. 3. The gas gauge is blinking, with only one bar. 4. The speed disappears from the dash board. 5. Other signs are blinking also, like low tire pressure, being slippery..... I remembered it was not completely out of gas before I left. Where do you think the problem is? Is it just out of gas? Or is there any other problems with the car?
welcome! 'i recharged the battery, it starts'. then what is the problem? what do you mean by 'it starts'? does the 'ready' light come on? 2) test the 12v battery, recharging it does not mean it is good. how old is it?
no “ready”! It starts:The 12v battery is working. I can see the dashboard, deadlight on, power button with a red light on, some signs on dashboard are blinking! The fuel tank sign is blinking with only one bar!! NO speed signs. The engine does not start. When I pull the jump starter out of the 12v battery, everything above is gone....The car is dead.... I don't know how old the 12v battery is.
Buy a new 12V battery. I second this x100. The blinking gas light is a sure indication of loss of 12v power. Sometimes it takes 1 minute, sometimes 20 minutes, for the level sensor to "calibrate" itself and start indicating normally again after losing power. Either your 12v battery is a goner, or the connections to it are bad. I disconnect the 12v battery every time before I swap out a HV battery. And every time, the car owner freaks a bit during the test drive that they're worried they're going to run out of gas because there's only one dot on the gas gauge. Until a few minutes later when it's all good.
You are right. It is the battery's fault!!! I charged the battery again. Now my car stars!!!!!Thank you!!!!!!
You are right!! When my car started, it took about 2 minutes to show the correct gas gauge!!!! Thank you!!!!!
