We're considering doing it again if the deals are good enough. And the 3000 mile coast-to-coast trip is four loooong days....

I assume that's 21 hours of driving over a 2-day period (10.5 hours per day)...As opposed to almost three days of driving...
If you manage to save $2-4K, that would translate to $100-200/hour payback...Less if you count the time it took to fly up to NJ and other hassles around arranging the remote purchase but still a descent payback for your time.

In September we saved about 7k since the dealers in Seattle were marking over MSRP.

Yes it’s 26 hours (I miss typed) spread out over 2 days. First day flew out at 6am to NJ around 11am. Left dealership around 2pm, ate, drove to somewhere in PA & slept. Next day drove all the way back home. Got home around midnight. I wish I have more vacation. Could have made a trip out of it.

That's why I happily paid $625 to ship ours from NJ to Dallas. The car deal was so good that I still came out way ahead (if I could have even found a Prime in Texas) - and left the driving to someone else.

Have it shipped. I did everything with a CA dealer, via emails and FedEx from my home in Utah.

Well I'm back in the Prius fold after a longish absence. It was honestly a no brainer with the current rebates and incentives. Price was $25729 OTD with an MSRP of $30,403. There are so many 2017's in my area (most of them in the DC area) that it was easy to get the color and options I wanted.

Toyota did not change the rebate, still $4500 in north east states, extended to 4/30.

anyone get a prime for 25OTD in CA? (specifically southern CA)? wonder if its worth the effort to have it sipped from a 4500 rebate place to CA (if i can get it to 25OTD after fees, shipping, etc)

Correct. There are many car hauling outfits. Ask the dealer you will be dealing with and I’m sure they will recommend a reputable company.

Are you looking for the Plus or Premium? I got a quote for the Premium trim at $29,760 OTD in SoCal with 0% APR, if you choose the $2000 rebate instead you would get that to $28,200 OTD. If they have a Plus maybe you could get it for ~$26k? Asked 6 different dealerships in SoCal and that was the lowest.

i prefer the plus because of the screen. do u think theres any compelling reason for the ~2k increase? i know its personal preferences but curious.

I am new to Prius game.

I got a quote of around $25,250 for the Prius Prime Advanced which has a MSRP of about 34,000 or so.

That's close to $9000 off of MSRP. This includes $4500 rebate, $1250 College graduate rebate, and the rest as dealer incentives.

Out the door with taxes, dealer document fees and registration/plate will be $27000.

    Is this a good deal?

Also, I understand that 0.9% financing cannot be combined with $4500 cash back and I will have to get the car financed through toyota finance if I am taking the $4500 cash back and Graduate cash back. Is this correct?

I have excellent credit history. What finance rate should I expect with Toyota financing?

    Thank you

You get quite a few more comfort features from stepping up to the Premium, but drive and performance are essentially the same between all 3 trims I think. I actually wanted the JBL speakers and blind spot monitoring so I went with the Advanced, which makes more sense to have a bigger screen as it has navigation. The sonar clearance for parking is also pretty sweet.

I don’t know how good inventory of the Plus trains are at this point, out of all the dealerships I checked only 2 out of 6 stil has 1-2 in stock 2 weeks ago.

Don’t forget the $4500 Federal tax credit, $1500 CA rebate, and $450 SCE rebate on the Prime too. Happy hunting!

They took my used vehicle and gave me the Prius Prime... Out of pocket price with Autobahn Paint Protection, 3 year maintenance, 3 year Safety Connect, - $4900.
The Bill Dube Dealership is an outstanding place to do business. After the brief, albeit mandatory, price negotiation period my wife and I came out with a sweet deal. Sales personnel chain of command were extremely agreeable to my every wish and desire. The salesman, Bill Lagrange, was knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.
