I recently purchased a prime plus and want to know if i can add the wireless charger like they have in the advance? I've been trying to look on various toyota website and cant seem to find it. Any advice or where i can go to buy this part would be great. Thanks in advance.
Dont bother IMO. It's a 1amp unit. Charged my note 5 20% in 30 mins on my commute. The first bump/pothole you hit, the phone will move and the charger will error out. Also you can not have any case on your phone; makes it too thick to charge. I might be able to live with it if it was a 2.5+ amp but it's cheaper and more reliable to just by a cigarette lighter charger with wire.
try diy. buy the wireless chi charging kit from ebay for less than $10 and install it yourself. Also get a rubber mat to prevent the phone from sliding, and put the coil in-between the tray and your rubber mat. drill a hole to run the coil's wire and put the electronic board under the tray, add a switch, connect to the 12V in the center console, done! make sure you check the voltage of the kit, you might need to somehow get the 5V or 9V from the 12V
just buy a wireless charger for 5 dollars on ebay or wish or whatever and add it urself, i did that on my gen 3. Stole power from the 12 volt outlet and used a 12 to 5 volt converter to power the charger. The cheap QI chargers can charge ur phone even if u got a case on or not so it sounds very weird if the one in the higher trim model prime keeps disconnecting...
im going to get the Magic Mount Charge Products | Qi Wireless Charging | by Scosche by Scosche and mount it on the dash
Ohh.. never seen that before lol, personally i just want my phone laying out of the way, the car is my phone when im driving anyways lol.
confirmed my supposition. 1 amp unit. now i dont know if it charges at 12v or 5v (the voltage at the coils) so it may take 12v 1A and charge at 5v 2.5A but i personally doubt it reference pictures:
